Kurticus91's 2002 SR5 Build Thread

I'm ready to go back to Ocracoke. Maybe I'll just retire there :smokin:

Got my Pro Comp 7032's last friday!

Got them mounted up today at RNR Custom. If anyone in the Richmond area wants their tires mounted and balanced right without scratching up the rims, go to RNR. Custom wheels and tires is ALL they do.

The new wheels pushed the tires out another 1/2" it seems. It was rubbing on the rear portion of the front wheel well. I trimmed and hammered some of the pinch weld and plastic. No more rubbing.

Looks pretty damn sexy if I do say so myself!

Also I received my LED's for my overhead lighting. Install was extremely easy...until the LED for the back hatch popped up THROUGH the socket and rolled up into the frame!! Had to pop the plastic off and poke around to finally find it wedged up on the side of the frame. Fished it out with a zip tie lol. I'll take a shot of the interior lighting tonight when darkness falls.

Thought about taking out the 4Runner for a nice evening drive, but it didn't take much convincing to get my father to let me take out his '98 C5 instead.

Hot damn this thing is beast! When you ride the power band she hits 70mph before you even shift into 3rd

Stopped at my favorite spot to take some photos:

Love the build man. I'll surely be using it for ideas with my own. I just ordered 881/890 combo with top plate spacers for mine. I got 60028 shocks for my rear. How do you like the ride of yours before and after you added the front bumper?

The truck has seriously never ridden better. With the wider track from the wheel spacers and the heavier ARB bumper, the truck just feels planted in the road. The extra weight in the front definitely softens up the bumps.

Did you get shocks for the front? If you are getting shocks it's DEFINITELY worth paying the extra $100 to have the front coilovers pre-assembled. And good looks on the top plate spacers, I wish I would have gotten them!

Unfortunately the shop I ordered from didn't have the preassembly option...

Ahh well an auto shop could do it for you if you don't want to rent a spring compressor. I just don't trust myself enough to compress them, I would f*ck something up and probably hurt myself in the process lol. Good luck man

My buddy is my personal mechanic so I won't have to work with them lol. I know he's done plenty of them but they are a PITA for sure.

I wanted to install some off-road lighting but had put it off for a long time. I always liked the look of Unner's 4Runner and how he mounted his LED light bar to his front bumper. I consulted his build thread and ended up ordering an Avec LED light bar...so thanks Unner. :hatsoff: I also ordered some LED spot lights that I am waiting to mount. Once my Baja Rack arrives I will rig them up!

Here is my 31" Avec Ultra-slim mounted to my front bumper

Good luck in the Navy, one day I want to make it out to the outer banks in my 4Runner.

Thanks a lot man! And yes you should really try to make it out to OBX. The beaches are amazing

Just pulled the trigger on a Nikon D3300 DSLR! Won't get to use it much before I leave for basic training next week, but I'll take the 4R out somewhere cool and get a few shots

Nice build thread, man. I remember seeing those 4runner and escape pics a while ago and laughing because i have a silver 3rd gen and my wife has a black Escape, plus we live in Hampton Roads! Good luck with BT

Photos from my Nikon D3300 DSLR. Still an amateur with this thing, getting used to the relationships between ISO, aperture, and shutter speed.
