Kurtis T4R Build Thread

Thanks guys.

Not to be a jerk but I did state that I cannot roll the window up and down in my previous post.

As for weight, I won't be saving any. I'll actually end up adding more. Since the back i is removed and the A-Pillar has been jeopardized I'm adding tube. Here's my progress this week so far.







This will get bondo'd, repainted, and fixed up real nice.





Currently working on prepping the front bumper for some...Cchanges....

Yup the plan is for the 14B to get 4 link'd. Not bed bob though. I like the storage in the bed and it's where to fuel tank is going to hang out for now. It will be nice once it's all done.
 
^^^ Ditto! I like your style man, makes me wish I had the time, skills, and money to get things done like you. Graduating college in less than a week and starting a good paying job in less than a month.... hopefully my rig will be getting some upgrades soon!

Love the chop, interested to see the final product (is there ever really a "final" product? seems evident maybe not hahah!)
 
So I've had a couple days to work on this thing. Still far from done but here is some photos of the progress.

Above the windshield sticks out a bit. I will be incorporating a 41.5" light bar. It should be tucked in there very nice an make good use of the space. My hope is to have this done for the Hang Over Run. It's going to be close and I don't want to start cutting corners now. The cage has 12 points of contact to the frame. I am expecting the body to go to shit. I made the clearances very close for a reason.


The outside A-pillar also connects to the dash bar.




 
Sh*t just got real in here! That fabrication work looks top notch! Speaking of notches, what tooling are you doing all your bird's mouthes with?

I am using the Harbor Freight tube notcher then using a angle grinder with a flap disk to clean it up and get the angle and fitment I want. If I did it all over again, I'd buy the Harbor Freight notcher, light it on fire at the cash register and go buy something else. The brass bearings had fallen out of it on the first cut and later I stripped the adjustment screws out of the pillow block. It's total crap.

I just bought the same notcher a few nights ago. The shaft is already wobbling inside the bushings. $40 experiment that won't last very long, but I kind of expected it. I should have just bought a good notcher when I bought my bender. Build looks great! Excited to see the "final" product!
 
Well looks like I'm making trip down to whidby! To see this beast of a runner I live in the Bham! Nice runner and snow runs!
 
Thanks for all the compliments guys. A little update here.

The bulk of the cage is done and has been remove so I can burn it in the rest of the way. I need a new windshield and no one is doing mobile right now because of the weather. So....I need to take it into town. I'm pretty sure the windshield can be removed and installed with the cage on but I'll play it safe and do it now. Any who, here are some pictures so far.









Tomorrow the fuel tank goes in along with a make shift tailgate to make it streetable for the drive to the shop.
 
Looks fantastic man. I love the cage through the fenders! Can't wait to see the finished project. You are literally building my dream truck

Alright, final-ish product is here. It's good enough to wheel. Still need to hammer out the tail gate and make the inside panels for the bed. I will be beating the shit out of it on Saturday.
