Turn signal is closest to the driver's side window on both my RHD's (both Toyotas), and I'm pretty sure every RHD is the same way.



Most parts are the same as 4runners, engine parts can be bought out of the UK from parts guys that speak English, there are numerous sources in Canada that stock common maintenance bits, or if you're a bit more resourceful you can have parts brought in directly from Japan or Australia (also English 1st language source). You need to plan ahead a bit, and carry an inventory of things like oil/fuel filters that you'll use often, but it's not a big deal.

Wierd, the Defenders have the stalk on the left side of the column when they are RHD, and my Series has it on the right side of the column even though its LHD. I have no problem going back an forth, and its wierd whenever i drive a defender to have the stalk on the "normal side".

That is the hardest part of driving a RHD really, hitting the wipers when you go to make a turn, lol.

you can actually trim the us Scoop insert to have an opening in it.i did this with my hood.

Can you explain this a little further or post a link to what you did so we don't hijack this thread too bad. I looked through your build thread and some others, but didn't see any mention of the insert itself, just the scoop.

I must have done that a half dozen times when I got it and was driving around downtown Vancouver. I felt so embarrassed but I'll bet nobody even noticed. Now when I jump into a normal LHD car, I'm constantly hitting the wipers when I go to signal. Go figure!

You should be able to find the filters and belts (accesorry) at your local autoparts store, just find the filter numbers online and crossreference them, and the belts generally are made for mutiple models and manufactures so the power steering belt could work on your 98 3.0TD surf as well as a 1985 K-car. You can find the numbers on Gates international site, then google the number and someplace like rockauto will pop up or autozone, and from there you can cross-reference the number to something you can buy at your local store or atleast someplace that ships from canada/US. So while you might not be able to look your car up in their book, they will likely have the right filter and belt for you! Then once you get the numbers keep a reference of them so you can easily get them, so you dont have to constantly look them up or have them shipped from Japan or OZ. I've done this on UK spec Land Rovers.

ToyDIY has a cross reference function so you can find other Toyota vehicles that use the same parts for lots of things like this (filters, belts, etc).

Nice Truck! :bravo: I think I saw you yesterday (Sunday) Near Deep Cove! I was going the opposite way in a green runner with hella lights on the front!

Nope! Wasn't me - I haven't been out that way for a while. I must have a doppleganger out there somewhere.

I do have some updates - I just have to get around to taking some pics. Checked off a couple mods off the list.

Quick cell phone pic update.

Mods checked off - LED clear / red tails, projector retrofit, Satoshi grille, Whitson roof rack, Tundra brakes, LED interior lights, air filter.

I put the LED light bar on the day after I took this pic.

Still to do - SEM Trim Black on the flares and cladding, make a wind fairing for the rack.

Prepping for a trip up to Alaska / Yukon in a couple weeks. Can't wait.
