Hey all, My dealership has a 97' Toyota Landcruiser 40th anniversary like this: 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser Consumer Reviews sitting in our back lot for four months now. It has about 300k on it, runs awesome. Is there anything on it you think I should grab that is useful on our 3rd gen runners?

Front axle for a solid axle swap 
Not too many parts swap over aside from the springs. Front 80 springs = 3rd gen rear lift springs. The stock 80 rear shocks can also be used in a 3rd gen rear in conjunction with lift springs. LC wheels are always nice on a 3rd gen too.

Put a new timing chain in it and drive it another 300,000. The 97 was probably the best 80 series.

And you may want to go ahead with the newer headgasket design. IdahoDoug has a very helpful video on how to do it the right way. If you keep that underpowered 4.5L in there.

Thanks all, yeah I think I will try to picck it up tomorrow. I found out it belongs to one of the salesmen who is now in deep - for leaving his truck on the lot for months. He's a jerk, greedy one, but I'll see if he is willing to let it go real cheap! It runs perfect so I am guessing he ran out of space at his house or for some reason thought no one would notice a Landcruiser on a BMW lot...lol I'll post some pics tomorrow...not that they would be too exciting....:fro:
