Largest Possible Tires on my 3" Lift

Hello everyone,

I have a 2001 4Runner and will be purchasing a 3" lift within the month. Right Now I still have stock wheels and some cheap tires that came with the car on it. I am looking to getting into off-roading and I want to know what tires people are running on their 3" lift.

I would like to avoid cutting anything but would like to fit the biggest tires possible.

Any ideas?

265/75 largest without rubbing. You probably could run a bit bigger, but it also gets more expensive, especially with 16's + rims.

285x75x16 fit with only minor (& easily correctable) rubbing in the front wheel wells.

Go with General Grabber AT2s. They are awesome and can be had shipped at that size (33s) for about $700-$750 from TireRack.com

I've got a 3 inch revtek (Yeah yeah I know, wasn't me) lift and I run 75/285/16 and had a tiny bit of rubbing on the plastics of the front bumper, no metal cutting but scissors did the job. I've got cooper at3's and they look very aggressive and are a long lasting tire. they aren't mudders though, which I don't care for. Hope you found what you needed.

I ran 285/75r16s on mine with the 3" lift.had to trim a little of the rubber and when flexed it rubbed a little on the pinch weld behind the front tire. Nothing that a BFH didn't take care of.

I'm running 285/75/16 with 4.25" of back spacing. I have no rubbing at all either.

Same here...285s on a wheel with 4.5" backspacing with 3" lift and no rubbing. A big thing is that I have an SR5, and not a Limited. The front bumper flare is what catches for a lot of people. And the stock wheels have more backspacing.
