LawnDart's Build Thread

Just passed you on I 70E going towards Grand Junction.

I was the one waving to you from my gray honda minivan:shocked:

Saw the 4runner and the color and immediately I thought of you. It is way cooler when you actually see it.

Looks like you guys had fun

I have had this in my head for a long time, cool to see it visually! LawnDart, I approve this method :thumb3:

That does look like a nice set up! I crushed my magna flow tip in Moab too. Looking for options now.

Here is what I did on my 4X4 LABS bumper on my 80 Series.

You're have to look at the bumper in question on your own rig to see if the exhaust could be routed through in a similar fashion...

I've even considered running it over the frame rail and straight out the side about mid body line... But again this is on my "trail rig" much harder to cut into new rigs like ours...

I'll talk to Cbi this week in person and see if they might want to try this.

Haha. Nice! Yeah me and that white FJ convoyed all the way from Boise. Thanks for waving. It's been a looooooooong drive! The enthusiastic wave was an awesome pick me up.

Just saw you on Main Street in Ouray

2016 TR4 w/KDSS with mods and more to come....

Hit me up if you see me. I'll be tooling around in town after registration.

cbi recommends not using the hole in the bumper for exhaust.

they used to do it but the exhaust heat helped the powder coat come of faster.
but its always customers choice.

also if your doing a dual swing out make sure they measure twice for the lift gate clearances.

Will do. They seem to have it down pretty well but I'm driving to Idaho Falls to swap my bumpers out so they will do the install in their shop. So we will know if there's any issues. But I doubt there will be. I'll also be getting the new aluminum camp table. Which doesn't require a screw to hold in place while driving. Ball detents, baby!

What an incredible build!!! I just burned an hour and a half reading everything and taking notes.

I think you may be worse than me; I did the same thing on my last Harley build and 3 years later I am still saying "one more thing"! LOL

I'll be watching for you in P-town, I know you will be hard to miss!

Dave

Thanks man. Yeah this became an obsession. And you can't miss me. My truck looks like a giant tomato.

My wife and kids asked why I was waving so happily to a stranger. My daughter thought that I was being a creeper.

I explained to them that you were are a rockstar on the T4R forum and If you saw a rockstar you would wave too.

Trust me you really livened up my boring drive back from Vegas. I wasn't sleepy after that.

It's been a great experience and the summit hasn't even started. We got into town at about 8:30 pm and got dinner. And now I'm replying to emails from my tent. Lots of awesome rigs out here. Not quite as upgraded as Rock Therapy as those are meant for crawling in Moab whereas FJ summit you can do with a stock rig on most trails.

Not a ton of 4runners. But cool seeing people who recognize the rig all the way out here. Thanks again dude. And nice TAD sticker.

Walt from Tactical Application Vehicles. And it's not as easy as it looks.
