LC coil spring Color codes

lol I know right? Yeah, pretty sure that's what it is. What he said makes perfect sense.

All I can say is I've been running my LC shocks like so for almost 3 years and haven't run into any issues. But I suppose if you want to do it right, then bore it out. But I don't know of any member's running the LC shocks who have bored it out. I can't speak of what will happen in the future, but when I replace my shocks I'll take a look at the top mounting location and check it out.

I'm willing to bore it out, just want to know what these centering cups are, or if I can source them. I wish I could, I just can't afford any of SS' kits, even the rear only stuff. I'm building a craigslist/classifieds/junkyard lift here, but I still want to do it right.

These are what I was referring to in the other thread. You can buy it from the dealership, but they want an arm and a leg for it. That's excellent info. I'll add it to my thread as well. Dang, can't believe the OEM washers and centering cups are that much! That's like $68 in washers!! :wtf:

Rob is right there is no need to bore the hole out. I know that you can use a centering cup but all it does is wear the cup instead of the mount. I haven't used a centering cup in over 3 years and no issues what so ever. Go down to Ace and pick up some thicker washers and your good to go:cheers:

Well i just bought those shocks from toyota of dallas! It said there was a right and a left one so i bought those.

Been doing tons of homework on LC coils and came across something (that may or may not already be known).

The parts for a 1992 FJ80 (in this case) are different for front springs depending on steel or alloy wheel. The alloy wheel is a 15x7 whereas the steel is 15x6. Looking at OEM tire sizes, the alloys are 31" whereas the steel is 28.878" in height.

With the different 7.5 and 8 wrap heights we see from the different color codes, I wonder if it's due to the OEM wheels that vehicle was equipped with? If so, would the taller springs be for the larger wheel/tire combos, in order to fit them? Then again I start thinking about it, and that would make the smaller wheel/tire model sit really low if they had SHORTER springs.

Thoughts?

Looking for some quick advice regarding the lean I get with my LC coils.

I've got two of the same coils (double pink, light blue, white) and a 1" spacer on the driver side and I'm still getting some major lean. My current measurements are 24.75" on the driver with the 1" spacer and on the passenger I am 25.75." I have a full tank of gas which I'm sure is part of the reason but do you think it'd be worth swapping them over to see if they sit level?

I'm also running the stock panhard bar and currently my driver side coilover sits about .5" lower than the passenger.

Basically, do you think it's the stock panhard bar or the different age of the coils that's making the difference?

Panhard (trac bar) just centers your rear axle, it doesn't affect ride height.

I know this thread is old but, if fits perfect for my research needs along with answering many of my ?'s. I purchased a set of LC front springs, I do a study before I do any purchasing. But now I'm 2nd guessing myself and not sure if I messed up. I purchased what I believed to be a matching set off of (1994 Toyota FJ80 Land Cruiser Front springs. For a rear 99 limited lift. Color codes are as follows,
(PP + D\BL + W) & (PP + L\BL + W) I thought they were a matching set right & left. With that said, I now I realize one is 8-wrap and the other is 7.5 wrap.
Going by the color codes, along with just standing them up side by side, and putting the tape to them I got 19.25 on dark blue &, 19", or just hair under 19" on light blue I did not lay straight edge on top so just eyed the tape anyway, there is a slight difference about .25". Which is right on, with this post.

My question is. are this matching set is either left or right supposed to be .25" offset for some reason weight is everyone one side then the other. Or did I buy a mismatched set and have to fab something up?

All the Double purple light blues set you have listed here have a Drive side with green on the 2nd dot, not the dark-blue 2nd dot?

you will be fine with what you got. put the 8 wrap on the drivers side (gas tank and driver) and it will sit fine. I have 8 and 7.5 wraps and love them.

Double Purple / Grey / White.

Both are the same part number: 48131-6A570.

Can anyone point me in the right direction as to which springs these are? They don't appear to fit the color key legend that is passed around here. Local shop sold them to me and said to try them, currently waiting for my 5100s to arrive.

Mine are posted below and have heights of 20.5" and 20.75"". They both appear to count around 8.75 wraps but the colours don't seem to correspond. Can anyone share any insight? My colours seem to be Orange Grey White and Orange Orange White. Assuming it is orange since red isn't on the key.

I can's say anything about the 9 wraps but the 6.5 wraps are probably from the rear of an 80.

I had them installed about a year before swapping them out for ARB OME 861's. Mine did not lean. I suspect that the year 4runner might have played some part in what color code LC coils gets when they order from SS. Their SS 1.2 rear lift is broken down by year pairings. 1996-2000 is one package, and 2001-2002 is another. I know a few others had to use trim spacers to level things out. I was lucky and did not have to do that. If I would have stayed with 265/75/16's, I would have not changed a thing. Probably would have been easier too.. lol.
