Haven't had either but have always heard king is much better. 700# coils.

I have the King 14" 700lb and would recommend them. I don't have a front bumper or winch on my V8 but it rides fine. (Then again, I think it rides fine with CDC on the firmest setting, with 700lb coils and no bumper/winch :der

I think they might go good with your bumper, winch, and tires.

I also just went to have the 4Runners alignment checked (Firestone lifetime) and it doesn't seem I can get back to stock caster as the mech said the eccentric bolts are as far as they can go. Think this is about right with my setup? I was hoping I could squeeze some more out of the Camburgs.....

Ordered the King 700lb coils.

Ordered 2x O2 sensors to get rid of the P0420 error codes.

I have an appointment to get the coilsovers recharged as well.

Two quick questions to anyone that might know:
1. When it comes to recharging the ICONS is it just stick needle in and fill or do I need to remove the little screw in the charge port?
2. How do I get the stock ICON coil off of the assembly? I haven't really look at the assembly on the truck yet.

that sounds like a heavy rate coil. ive liked my 620lb coils on my coilovers. actually played with the idea of going to a 550lb coil thats 1-2 inches taller to soften it up more

I was between going with a lower coil but just a quick glance I'm starting to get up there in weight:

Bumper/Winchmount: 60 lbs
OPOR Sliders: 100 lbs
Winch: 67 lbs
Skids: 79ish lbs
Total: 306 lbs

I am also contemplating getting a Shrockworks front bumper after a deployment and that alone comes in at around 146 lbs.

20lbs over the stock bumper (however much that weighs) and the winch mount weighs 40 lbs.

That's really nice, I have been contemplating getting a bumper but not sure if I want one that weighs 150lbs. But then again I should upgrade my front suspension anyway, but then it comes down to how much money I want to spend haha tough decisions!

Got the manufacturer for the racks? And how's the fitment I heard it can be kinda tricky

Yea, the added protection is great.....the weight not so much.

First and foremost make sure you figure out your suspension first be doing it multiple times like many of us have done.

Yea, they were made by Orangeboxx Fabircation and I like them, I just wish they fit our 4th gens a bit better. It will take some bracket behind and extra bolts to add the the structure.

Installed a new cv on the passenger side.....new wheel bearing on the driver side and I have one on order for the passenger side.

Installed a 1.5 body lift......fun times.

Also cleaned up my wiring a bit.

Haha......here ya go:


"So this is actually my 4runner. After owning this, a 4dr and 2 dr JK on 35's lockers, armor, ect. I find the 4runner a good compromise of an off road capability and everyday drivability while keeping a V8. What I see you don’t have a picture of are the full skids (which are great hitting the tall curbs) and the winch (for when I can’t get over the speed-bumps).

As far as suspension, I find that my ICON coil overs and mid-travel rear (27.5" of wheel travel) and body lift perform better than most other off-road vehicles I’ve ran into (I have always been a fan of the AEV 3.5 though).


I would honestly like some more height but short of an SAS conversion there is only so much you can lift IFS. Luckily I really only rub when fully stuffed (funny how cutting can make room for rubber!).
