I didn't just get the Runner, but I haven't had the time to get busy with mods... but my list is growing.
PS everyone, I am going to go for the TRS LED headlights. Once I get pictures, I will post them for you all. No promises on it being over night, because I am at a temp duty, meaning away from my tools, so hopefully I don't have to take out of the headlight for clearance.

hey guys, just picked up my 2015 4runner trail a couple of weeks ago and already bummed by the light situation.
i added morimoto ? LED fogs today and want to know if i should get the x11 extreme for the lo beams . i also want to know what the best scenario for high beam is .

personally, I would do the morimoto HID system for the lo beam before I will do that for the fog
i haven't figure out the high beam yet, hoping "Made_in_maine" will test out the 9005 XB LED (Morimoto XB LED headlight bulbs CREE) for the high, and we will see.

I am getting 9005s for high beams and H11s for the lows, so once they come, I will post pictures as soon as they come.
Unfortunately, it won't be until April or early may because they are backordered.
Depending on which ones. Some are, some arent.
The XB LED that TRS is offering is "not" as bright as their HID:
Morimoto XB LED headlight bulbs CREE
Some of VLEDS's, actually are brighter than HID:

do you think the VLEDs have the same quality as the morimoto ones?
i want to pull the trigger today and i planned originally to buy the HID set up because i have a 55watt set up on my LX450 with projector mod and i love them . the 4runner is a lease so i want to not mod anything , i would love to just get bulbs and swap them out.

VELDS seems to be a respectable vendor with products of the similar quality as TRS and XenonDepot.
i think im going to wuus out and get the hids , im also worried that in cold weather the covers could freeze from no heat .
This is for the low beam? or the high beam?
i was talking about the lo beam.
i just talked to the trs guys and they told me the high beam LED wont really work as a drl. said they have seen them stay at full, flicker or just not work at all . so i want to get the osram? just have to figure it out.

Is quick swapping OEM halogen headlights for these blazing bright LEDs in OEM reflectors as bad an idea as swapping for HIDs?
In other words, will they blind all other drivers with terrible light spread? Or are LED headlight swaps somehow immune from HID headlight swap problems?
How have people dealt with this, swap for projectors like custom HID swaps have done?

Bad idea! Tried it. VLEDS website said it would work well in a halogen housing. I don't remember their exact words but i guess it worked. It lit up but that's about it. It had no cutoff, terrible focus and was just totally unacceptable. Some have used them in a projector with pretty good results.

Thanks. I figured this would be the case. Tons of glare and useless light. Guess I'll stick with the overdrive bulb swap.

I did a search but didn't see any info on it.
Looks like an issue could be the dust shield won't work with these though.
