That's what I figured... I was excited about less draw with LED lights and was going to budget for it accordingly... Guess I'll continue budgeting for the TRS setup.

it looks like they have a 3000 lumen version for the 9005 application (high beams). Are folks still super happy with their V-LEDs or have people been wavering?
I'm thinking VLEDs for the high beams...
H11 MORIMOTO ELITE HID SYSTEM for the low beam and
Morimoto XB LED Fog lights
this is for a 2014 Limited.

whats goin on, kinda new here, recently put in sylvannia hi and low beams H11 and 9005, thought they would be a bit brighter but im looking for something really bright for my low beam replacement. im not looking to add an led bar or pods. if anyone can recommend a slight blue tint or super white low replacement bulb much would be appreciated. also how do i turn on my fog lights they are never on when i turn the headlights on.
Fog light switch on my 2015 is on the turn signal stalk, might be same on your 2011...

I wouldn't run either one. Do a real retrofit and run OEM D2S bulbs

and another question anyone actually put them in the 2014 lowbeam slot to see how they work with the projector....

Sounds like you are a H9 bulb candidate. It is a super easy conversion and it made the lights so much better. Order bulbs from headlightbulbs.com to see the different tints. I think super white has some blue in it.

If it's been done, do you happen to have a link where there might be photos? I don't see why it would be less than ideal in the 2014 projector headlights. Or do you have pictures? I haven't seen any thread where someone has put LEDs into these housings.

I have two DDM HID Kits coming that I will install and post about. i have these in multiple vehicles of mine that contain projector style housings and work like a charm. Lifetime ballasts. Ordered both a 55w 5k kit and a 55w 6k just in case 6k is too much blue

this is exactly the set up I've come up with for my TRDP after looking at all the retrofit posts.
except I'm going with xenon depot h11 4300 phillips hid bulb...closets to what manufacturers put as OEM on cars now days from I've gathered so far. i don't like the blue look of the 6000+ bulbs
however, looking at the Vleds site, they do make note that their h11 Leds are good for projectors

Someone was asking about LED or HID in the projectors. Then a comment was made about not doing either. I was referring to the HID install.
Edit: Not that I think the LED would be any better.

I don't know....maybe because the projector was not designed for that bulb.

From my research and talking with TRS and VLEDs people, it seems that LED bulbs don't work well with projector lens because of the way the lens collects the light.
With an incandescent bulb, the light is thrown in all directions, 360 degrees.
With an LED, the light is thrown only in the direction that the LED is pointing. This makes for weak spots or shadows in the light coming out of the projector.
I am still thinking about getting a pair of LEDs and trying it, but the only thing is that if the result is crappy, I have a swallow a bunch of money. I can't find a place that does free returns.
Get a pair, if it works, it works..... if not, throw them in your fog..... and apply yellow film...
