Awesome! Your LED upgrades are impressive and it looks like they really make a huge difference. Once the "newness" wears off of my ride I might be up for some LEDs!

Question

J.A. and others. Doing a little fishing here but how much do your LED packages usually run from the various outfitters? I usually specialize in Armadas and Titans but recently completed my Brother's 08 4runner with LEDs and HIDs with relative ease. The room to work with when installing HIDs in the V6 engine bay is enviable compared to having to go in through the front fender wells for the Titans and Madas. LOL. Anyway just checking to see what your member's target pricing is. Might have to expand. Thanks for any input.

Awesome stuff J.A. I emailed them like you said and hopefully I'll get a response back tomorrow or sooner. I'll post pics once installed.

PM'd ya. :snacker:

Ok maybe i didn't search right or something (have had a couple cold beers tonight ha ha) can someone tell me what bulbs i need or is there somewhere i can buy the whole set together? Let me know, since i have my lift and rims and headlights done i need something else to do to this thing ha ha.

Just ordered all of mine. I am super stoked about this easy mod. I think it will make a world of difference. How long have they taken to arrive for some of you?

Question

I have reviewed J.A.'s extensive write up and have been weighing out the pros and cons of the bulbs that VLEDs sells for $20/per and rates at 2W. I have so far put together a package for a 08 4Runner and a 2010 just recently. There are a number of different avenues to go down for the lighting. Meaning there are different LED bulb types out there for similar fitments. Why not just go with a 1.5w high power spot with a similar heat sync for $3/per versus $20 for the Doors and Maps, a 31mm 6LED 3175(3-chip 5050 smd's not the cheap 1-chip) festoon bulb for $5 versus the two piece for $17.99 for the Domes and Cargo. The Glove and Visor can be had on order. These bulbs simply do not cost as much as most of these sites would lead you to believe. So that being said you would be out the door with 2 6LED bulbs for the Cargo and Dome and 6 of the 1.5w high power spots for the Doors and Maps for $28 shipped?

For reference purposes bottom of the first page....
Another happy LED customer. Thank you ARMADEN - Nissan Titan Forum

I had 5000k from the start, wayyyy better in my opinion, even 5000k still emits some blue. Matches my HIDs perfectly, I now run 5000k everywhere.

Fresh from the can't leave well enough alone department, comes a page I did about changing all my interior bulbs again, this time to 5000k color from 6000k color. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

JA, assuming you own/moderate your website (top4runners.com) I just wanted to say your have excellent write-ups! I used it on a few occasions for information I was either too lazy or not in "the know" enough to come up with on my own (ie- total wattage consumption, etc). Great job on that site bro! :bigok: :bigok:

Does the Part no.: DIY_6_BC_W_5K
from v-leds come already with the adapter DE3175 (DIY_BASE_3175) so we dont need to specify the base(which is extra in the drop down menu.)

I have an '05 LTD and it has the dome light with 2 bulbs in it. If I go with the DIY-6-BC-W-5K it would be a total of 240 lumens up front. Will that be too bright?

It looks like in the drop down box it gives you a choice of several different bases. You have to choose the 3175 for .99 more.

I think that would be too much. What type of bulb does it take, DE3175? If so you can try 3175_4HP_W_5K which is 2W and 56 lumens each. Try to get something with between 60-80 lumens each max.

Yes you need to add the 3175 31mm festoon base

Yes, it uses 2 DE3175s. Thanks, will look for something less bright.
