Left Blinker Problem *NEED HELP*!

ABS and turn signal

So I've been having a problem with my left turn signal as well, but it involves other elements. On random occasions I'll be driving and my ABS light comes on. When this happens it doesn't affect my turn signal until I apply pressure to the breaks. When I put the breaks on, my blinker starts going very fast. I've checked the bulbs and they are working. Could it be just a fuse or something worse? Any help is much appreciate!

Every 6 months I spray Contact Cleaner in the connector about a foot away from the light bulb sockets. This usually clears any fast blinking. The last time I needed to use bulb grease on the actual light bulb base.

Looks like grease and cleaner are not making it anymore. anyone have the part number for the harness??

One Rainy night and lost the right signal again. No water in the headlight. Next day working, should I just order a new harness??

If the bulb is dead the green arrow blinks faster. Something to do with the resistance in the circuit I think. Maybe the filament is broken but reconnects sometimes when the two ends touch. Replace the bulb.

New bulb works most of the time. Guessing it is the socket or harness from other threads. ???

OK, right side hyper blink--replace bulb, next left side hyper blink--replace bulb. back to right side off and on, hyper. what's next? relay?? replace harness??? new battery a while back

I asked my dealership about this. Home, I can't find a relay for the turn signal, found the fuses only. There has got to be a relay someplace, marked 'turn signal'?? It doesn't look like the turn signal has a replaceable socket.

well they said to look for an old school round flasher unit somewhere under the dash. anyone seen one? I looked for a minute with a flashlight, no luck. I know, turn on the signal and listen for it. soon.

Hey all! Long time no type.

I am having the same issue in my 2006 4 Runner Ltd. In my case, the driver's front turn signal light. The rear left turn signal light is still functioning, and the right side has no issues at all (clicks regularly). I'm convinced the bulb needs replacing.

The question I have is, what's the best way to get to the receptacle? I know that, once reached, it's just a matter of turning the receptacle counter clockwise to pull it out and then replace the bulb. But how do you best get to it with the easiest effort? Wouldn't ya know.... the left (driver) side is the one where the battery is in the way. Ugghhh... Is it worth removing the battery temporarily to get at the light receptacle, or can the headlight assembly be removed more easily?

The main headlight assembly. The bulb to be replaced is the amber bulb on the upper right corner of the assembly (as you're viewing it). More about the brackets that appear above and below the assembly in a minute.

View behind the assembly. As you can see, the battery is in the way. I have seen some YT videos where the person took off the front left wheel well covering to get to it, but I don't know if that's worth the time and effort.

Side view. Please note the black fastener covers. Is there an easy way to pop these off without breaking them? Do they just lift with a flat screw driver or do you need some special tool to take them off? And will taking these off be enough to free the headlight assembly or are there other fasteners that need to be undone?

Upper View - Note the light gray bracket with the tabs. Do those need to come off? I hope not, because I've already broken one of them and don't want to break another.

Any advice, greatly appreciated.

Same issue on driver's side 2007 Sport. I've replaced the bulb three time. Swapped fuses. Nothing is working. I've pulled the flasher relay. I'm hesitant to spend $60 on a new flasher but may have to?

The part number is 81980-35020. It's on the back of the interior fuse box.

Anyone else replace their flasher?

You shouldn't need to remove anything. You can reach in and twist the bulb housing out of the slot.

So this was compound errors. First off, thinking it was the turn signal, I changed out the running light bulb (first error). However, O'Reilly had given me the wrong replacement (second error). So now the running light was out too. I suspected it after I saw another thread and looked up the bulbs they gave me to see they were incompatible.

Anyways, Sylvania 194NALL are not compatible. Take your time and don't just let the guy grab the first light that looks like the one you pulled out... Ugh. I almost ordered a $60 part!

Thinking it is time to order a new harness. Strange it works great in the rain, not as much on sunny days. wonder what that will co$t??

The fact that it causes other indicators to activate may suggest a ground wire problem.
