Wow, that seems like a lot. I wonder if the drop would be any less with a V8. Right now I have stock size Michelin Cross Terrains and the CPU says I'm getting around 20. That's fine with me, but not sure how I'd feel getting 15-16. Sounds like you got a great deal.

If you still want the tire, I'd use tiresdirect.net (they are doing a $50 Toyo rebate) to get a quote to bring to Discount Tire. If I added shipping and about $80 for install that brought me to around $750

Just bought this 2004 4runner but I'm not sure what kind of lift it has? I can see that there are blocks on the front springs but not sure on the back. Here's some pics of it and I know you can't tell by the pictures but what do I need to look at to tell?

I'd wager you have a 1" bodylift. As for the suspension - going to need pictures of the springs/perches.

Of course...could just be the tube steps and camera angle playing eye tricks on me.

I would not have done anything differently. I think it sits perfect now. I'm in CO and got the tires because they are highly rated for snow. I can't speak much to their performance since I have had them only a few days, but they are very quiet (and I came from a very docile hwy tire).

As for the gas mileage, I was expecting a small drop. What I've seen is more like a drop of 4-5, however, this is using the computer, not hand-calculating. I was able to do roughly 20mpg around town before, now it's about 16 driving as conservatively as I can. When I hit the highway at 60mph, I'm getting 27mpg. So I think it makes sense to see those "city" drops when more of the driving is accelerating, 'cause that's when the size and weight of the tires matters more.

Not thrilled for the drop, but I knew it would happen going into it and I still think it's worth it because it looks AWESOME. And the tires look much better in person. FYI, got for $750 installed at Discount Tire.

you probably have to consider that by putting the on the 70 ratio tires you are losing mph also so put that into consideration.

i just put on 265/70/17 nitto terra grapplers on and when my speedo was 55mph i was actually doing 53.5 but now when my speedo is 55mph im doin 56

so you are essentially losing gaining mph which in turn loses you mpg. so now you are going to show inaccurate odometer readings lol. should save you about 5-6 miles per 100 =) (not really saving but you know)

I, also, noticed it was about 1.5 mph off when comparing speedo to GPS with stock size. Haven't checked since the upsize, forgot about that.

Looks like a Revtek 3/2.5 to me, your getting 3" in front, and probably 2.5 in the back. Look under the back at top of the coil springs, probably a spacer there.

What's up fellas! Here are some pics of my 05 Runner. Been lurking on here for a while, and finally decided to post some pics. Runner has been lifted since 2006. Thinking of switching to an Icon lift. No problems with the Donahoe setup. I have no complaints. Just want to switch things up. Only problem I am experiencing now is my tires rubbing the front body mount right behind the front tire. Previously had on 285/70/17 and never rubbed. I can adjust my lift to go up another .5-1", just need to put the time aside. Pics are from when I first had the new wheel sets put on.

Debating a 1" body lift. Can anyone with a body lift on your Runner tell me some pro's and con's?

Thanks for the heads up. Just if anyone else in interested Treaddepot has them for $588 before shipping. I'm hoping Town Fair will match them locally.

what all was needed to fit the 295s

This is what I did.

-Lifted suspension 3.75" front, 4" rear
-Lifted body 1/2"
-Replaced the front bumper with a Schrockworks, rear bumper with a CBI
-Installed Method wheels 17x8.5, 4.75" back spacing, 0 offset
-Removed all mud flaps
-Chopped body mount

Due to overwhelming success that people have had doing the FJ upgrade, I finally bit the bullet and did it myself. Finished the lift this weekend! Took it out and hit the trails with it and i gotta say, my 4Runner has never felt so confident to drive. No rubs, no rattles, no squeaks - its perfect! The FJ upgrade is volumes better than the factory XREAS suspension.

Here is what i did:
- 4x4 FJ Springs front and back
- Factory Tokiko FJ shocks on rear
- Bilstein 5100s up front set to second notch from the top (1.75")
- Spidertrax on all 4 corners
- Upped the tires to 265/70R17 General Grabber HTS (AWESOME All-Season TIRE)

I just did the same set up last week. I've got about 500 miles on it and the ass-end settled a little. I'm likely adding a spacer or an Air-lift kit. How does the rear of yours sit right now?

Congrats on the lift! Its a huge upgrade IMO - The rear of mine is still sitting about 2 inches higher than it does stock, the front is still about 4" higher than stock. Its looking very level. Loving it! As for settling, i beat the crap out of the truck last night on some rocky trails, if its going to do any settling it should have done it after that for sure. I'll keep you posted if i notice any difference in the coming miles.

Daystar 2.5 Easy Install Leveling Kit. Stock Rear

This evening I installed the Daystar 2.5 Front Leveling Kit and could not be happier. I was a little concerned about the stud extensions; however, after install I am very confident. Unfortunately, during the install I noted a busted CV boot which I am not looking forward to, but a story for another day. I really appreciate this forum, it allowed me to view and choose the exact kit I wanted. I look forward to more mods in the future and get a lot of ideas from here. Cheers. Eric P
