Lift and Tire Central (pics)... Post 'em Up!

Took some pics of the 2004 4Runner with new 285/70/17 Duratrac's. For those that has seen my other pics I will be plasti-dipping the wheels again, just not sure if I will paint over the dip again or try the Anthracite dip from dip your car dot com. See sig for lift info.
Front height is 38.5"
Rear height is 39.75"
Should I remove the stock tube steps? That will be the color the wheels with be as well as the roof rack.

My first Post!
Pretty excited I get to contribute rather than ask a question on my first post! Thanks for all of the info as I've lurked for a long time and now my feet are wet.
My 4th 4Runner - I've always ran them stock until today.
2008 Sport Edition
Today: Spidertrax, ToyTec Spacer (3"/1.5") Lift, Goodyear DuraTrac (265/70/17).
Was a bit nervous as the alignment almost didn't happen and thought my post was going to be "do you guys drive without an alignment", but was able to rattle them loose.
Several upgrades planned in the coming months...nothing really compared to some of the beasts here. Leather, Stereo, LEDs, HID, Fab storage in back.
Was about to bite the bullet on a new 2014 Trail, but figure I'd keep the 2008 and pump a few bucks into something that has been troublefree for 98k.

Are you getting a new rack?
I would like too, but right now isn't the time for that.. My 10 yr old step son says yes, lets try without the steps again, so looks like that will happen this weekend.
Well as much as I would like to again, not the right time. However I sorda kinda have a new RACK! The wife had our son 3 weeks ago and is naturally feeding. So i guess i can say i have a new borrowed time rack!

That looks great. Glad to see you were finally able to upgrade. I think my next tire will be the 265/70 Duratracs but that should be a long time from now (hoping these tires last).
If I were you, I would go with the Anthracite dip. I'm seriously considering dipping my wheels that color too. Plus, as you said, it would match the rack...i'm guessing you're getting the newer, SE rack?
I prefer the steps over no steps. I've had mine off many times and always end up putting them back on. I just don't like the increased exposure to the underside of the truck, especially the trailing arm and brackets. Now, if you were getting a set of sliders, that's a different story.

Thanks man, I was still planning on the OC II's, but the deal I got on these Dura's was unbelievable, so I ended up going that route. Glad I did, really like them, and since the T4R isn't my daily driver it was a no brainer.
I would like to get an SE rack, but can't find one local yet. I am going to plasti dip my stock rack to match. Or plasti and paint which is what I had for 2 years prior.
I may pull one off and see if I like it better, now that the 4R is up much higher the family and I always rub the backs of our legs on them, gets annoying. So we will see. Would love some sliders.

I think you made the right choice. From what I remember, Goodyear was having a decent coupon on them too so i'm guessing you got a great deal.
The SE racks are harder to find, especially for a good price, but just keep an eye out if that's what you want. I think there is one up now in the classifieds. Not sure of the price though.
I can see how some people would rub on them. That's the only thing I liked about not having them on was the ability to step straight down and not out. When my truck was up highter, 40"+ measurement up front, it was a hassle. But now thats its lowered down a bit, its not a big deal.

Goodyear is having a great rebate on them. However I am talking about an even greater deal. Much greater, I hope to be in this set for roughly $500-$600 in the end.

Bought 5 dura's and 5 wheels for $250. Two dura's were brand new. So i am selling the 5 wheels and 3 used tires. Meeting someone today for tires at $150 for all three used, 2 are cupped bad and one is pretty good. I bought two new tires from discount and used the 2 new from the deal, which discount sold me certificates for those.
As it sits now: $250 (deal) + $60 (gas) + $45 (seperate tires and wheels, polishing stuff to clean wheels) + $641 (2 new dura's and certificates and mount) = $996
Sale tires for $150, and sale wheels for hopeful $350 = $496 total for 4 new Dura's mounted with certificates!!

i did a 2" daystar leveling kit on mine and i have the spider traxx spacers. I did have to push the liner forward a bit and cut the mudflap basically in half to clear my 265/65/18s. i looked and looked for ways to clear the larger tires without having to make adjustments and i just couldn't find the room. you really can't tell a difference in looking at mine. a lot have removed the front flaps, but i was able to cut them and keep them. i've been able to maintain the stock look while adding a little "beef" to it.

Hey how do you like those Toyo's ? Also what exact size are you running ? Getting new tires soon and like the looks of these but maybe with the more aggressive side wall.
Toyotech BOSS suspension, 18 inch Procomp rims, Toyo 32 tires
They are not that aggressive but only about 200$ a piece, and for snow they are better than the mud tires. I had a daystar 2.5 spacer lift and they would rub any time I would hit a drive way at fast speeds. Now I have the new toyotech boss lift 3 inch and have no problem with it and it rides better than the stock suspension. They are 275/65 R 18 's and I don't think there is a better tire out there for the money, a more aggressive mud tire will cost you at least 100$ to 200$ more per tire.

Yeah i agree their really nice tires, i was looking on Toyo's website and it says they have three different options for the side wall from mild/moderate/more aggressive. The more aggressive looks pretty cool! I wanna run this exact tire size but i feel like its going to be to much of a headache with the rubbing.Im going to be doing fj coils with a cornfed 2/1 spacers and spidertrax on the limited wheels. Im debating between these tires and bf at ko ,, i really wanna run duratacs but i know ill have to do too much trimming and chopping for them to work because their much more aggressive and they only come in 275/65/18. Worst case ill just the Toyo's or the Bf at ko's in 265/65/18 By the way truck looks awesome! Love the stance !!

Nevermind the more aggressive shoulder design is for more extreme larger tire sizes :moping:
I'm looking at the same lift/leveling spacer and tires. What size tires did you go with?
