I'm running 35's with stock gears. That V8 don't care! Lol. Lost a little low end but not bad at all.

How bad was the rubbing? You and I seem to have similar lift amount.

You have more lift than me, but you will have to hammer the pinch welds behind the fender linings flat and trim the front and rear bumpers. Best way to do this would be to take your rims in and have tires mounted, come home and put them on. Trim, turn tires and check clearance, then find a ditch or something to flex on, trim as necessary. After I did the initial trimming I found a trail and drove a tire up stumps, embankments and whatever I could find to make sure everything was clear. Took me a couple tries, but like I said you have more lift than me. Biggest thing is trimming the body mount and hammering the pinch weld over flat. Get those done and the plastic is super easy. I'd suggest a 10lb hammer for the pinch welds. Those suckers are tough!
You also probably won't need to trim as much as me if you don't flex the suspension out like I do. I max it out often and needed all the room possible!

I can work you a deal on a 1" front kit (will still have some rake, but when loaded up will be level). Or can make any size you want custom.

Been lurking for a few months, new to the forums. Bought an 06 4runner V8 Limited, black.



I want to lift it, the local place that I have to do it, shunned lifting 4runners because of the vibration some people get at different speeds. Hows everyones experience with this? Is there some things I can do to avoid this?



It seems most places around me, nobody works on 4runners, doesn't make me feel confident to get any work done by these places by any means.

Yeah? Go back and tell them they're full of shit, and find you an experienced mechanic. Running Toytec Boss coilovers with 1500's and there are no vibrations. Unless they're Jerry rigging those runners, a proper lift will not give you that. Save your money, and spend it with someone that not only u can trust but trusts what they're doing. Goodluck

Just installed a toytech Boss lift and light racing ucas. Putting on Cooper Discovery 265/70/17's this weekend.

I have the same kit that I have been trying to get on mine for months! did you have to get longer brake lines? I am assuming you have to.

Nope, didn't change the lines they seemed fine. Getting the front struts out was the hardest part, being in there for 15 years the rubber on top didn't want to let go of the mount. Had to treat it like a lady :smash:

Hey Guys I got a 04 Runner with 17" Method wheels with 0 offset and 4.75" Backspace. I got Bilstien 5100's with the 2.5" lift on them and 4" maxtrax spindle lift. And in the rear I have all pro 3.5" lift springs and Air bags. Currently running a 265/70/17 Tire but would like something near a 34/35. Would I have to regear ? I'm V8 Auto. And what size is good 285/75/17? Or 315/70/17

I have them cranked all the way, with the 4'' Spindles. Which the spindles also add 3/4" track width perside. I believe it was around 39.50/40" from bottom on fender to floor if I remember correctly. I could be wrong that's for the front though. Ride is great. Air bags defenitly need 5psi when around town driving.

Nah, for real? I'm at 40" - 41" from floor to well and I'm at the lowest setting. Mmm maybe cause my tires are bigger. So I have the same height but got to keep my ride quality, awesome.

Can't decide! I do plan on a lift. No more than 3". I'm ok with trimming, but don't want to trim the frame. I don't want to rub anywhere and would like a NICE ride.

Personally, I felt like my 265-70's looked a bit small with a 3" lift. But it's 100% subjective. I just like the look of stuffing as much tire under it as you can.

SCS Stealth 6 & OME Lift

Just got some gunmetal matte SCS Stealth 6's wrapped in 265/70/17 BFG KO2's. I've read that most 265/70/17's will fit without rubbing, but the KO2 are pretty square tires. I had a little rubbing. The wheels are -10 offset, and I have a 2.5-3 inch lift from OME. Pushing the front fender liner forward and removing the front mud flaps solved all rubbing problems, even a turning reverse on angle. Also, FYI, the OME (ARB Now I guess) FJ Cruister kit totally fits the 4runner (even though it's never listed under 4runner). I bought it when it was OME, but at the time, all the part numbers contained in the kit were individually listed for the 4runner as well.
