Daystar 2.5/1.5. 285/75/16 General Grabber AT2. Rubs on body mount at full lock, need to chop it. Was told running wheel spacers would help with this?

thanks guys. happy with how its sitting right now! minimal rubbing at full lock in the front; mudflaps and a small area on the front side of the fender liner. haven't played with the settings on the front coils yet, but will probably keep it like this. kind of digging the slight rake

lift help

I am currently planning to lift my girlfriends 2008 2wd. We got a good deal on wheels for a set of tires we have already available. 275/60/20 (33x10.8). 20x9 0mm offset. My question is really a matter of which route to go. i see most clearing a 285/70/17 (33x11.2) with 3" of lift. some with minor trimming, some with trim and body mount chop. here are the 2 routes i am considering. bear minded im not looking to get a full OME lift or toytec ultimate. pretty much a street ride anyway. i would make a thread but i just joined and dont have enough posts or permission yet to start a thread. lol

A) 3"/1.5" Toytec spacers or cornfed 3/2. It appears her stock front struts/coils are sagging some so i thought about adding fresh ones there as well. I also know i will likely need new UCA's to get caster back in line. may have to add 1" body lift if it scrubs bad but id like to avoid that if possible. my concern here is the amount of trimming that may need to be done and the amount of scrubbing w/ just the 3" spacer. it seems to vary greatly per vehicle on posts ive read.

or

B) 4" lift spindle-source spindles. I know this route will keep all of the stock geometry right and no need for UCA's. with the minor sagging stock struts/coils i think it would end up around 3.25-3.5" lift. this route seems to me like it will also be a more true 4" of lift since nothing will settle. Alignment will be easier and ill just find a 1.5" spacer for the rear. my concern here is it being too much lift or consequently not enough with the 3/4" added track width the spindles add to the front. it may scrub worse then. ive never dealt with a spindle lift before. also im concerned with it looking weird with front out farther than the rear. i could add a 1/4" rear spacer to combat some of the offset but that is as far as id be willing to go as to not compromise stud strength.

Any input here is greatly appreciated.

JakeH414 I will be installing spindles in the next few weeks. I went from Bill's set max with FJ coils in the front and swapped back in my stock coils because the ride was to firm for me. My current plan is to install spindles, reinstall my FJ coils and drop them all the way to 0 to regain the lift I want but maintain a much better ride quality and allow the suspension to fully work within it's designed up and down travel range. I am currently running wheel spaces and do not think that the increase width in the front end will even be noticeable.

Bilstein 5100s in front at highest setting with Daystar 1.5 inch spacer in the rear. 265/70R17 hancook dynapros. I like the bilstein and absolutely love the hancooks. the dynapros are unstoppable in snow. Next step is fox 2.0 shocks in the back with toytech superflex coils and the toytech adjustable coilover kit for my 1500s.

Man, I feel like that tire size is perfect for the 4th gen. I have 265/70/17 Grabbers, but i love the meatiness of 285/75/16!

My bargain suspension setup (except for the Bilsteins)

Bilstein 5100's all around (got them as a Christmas present)
FJ Rear Springs (bought from a fellow forum member for $40 shipped)
Rear Toytec Spacer (bought off Craigslist for $20)
2016 Stock OEM 4Runner SR5? Wheels with stock Bridgestone Duelers (bought off Craigslist for $200 for the whole set) The set was only on the guy's 5th gen for 500 miles

All in all I have about $500-$600 (including Bilstein's) in this setup!

Love your wheels! You know what model they are?

Bilstein 5100's at 1.75 an FJ springs. TRD FJ Trail wheels with 285/75/16 BFgoodrich AT KO2's. Probably gonna raise my bilsteins to the highest notch to see how it looks.
