2003 sr5 4x4, Daystar 2.5/1.5, 265/70/17 Falken Wildpeak AT3W

So i finally got around to putting my daystar 2.5/1.5 on. Didnt really want to go with spacers, but thats what was in the budget for now. Got 265/70/17 Falken Wildpeak AT3W and was hoping to not have to trim at all, but somehow they're rubbing? I did my research and figured it wouldn't rub, but it does on turns and in reverse while turning. Suggestions on how to approach the trimming situation? Anyways it didn't turn out quite how i wanted it, so ill probably just do the whole suspension next and go a little bit higher when i can afford to do so. Next on the to do list is get an alignment and put on my diff drop kit.
+ it's been idling at a very low rpm since i installed the lift kind of up and down, anyone else have this problem?
(I'm not the most mechanically knowledgeable so any tips/advice would be helpful and appreciated)

This is the picture that was on on the craigslist ad when i first bought it, since i didnt take any pics of it stock:

Where are you rubbing? Fenderliners can be molded once slightly heated (torch, hair dryer etc), you can also unscrew them and pull it forward and add new holes in the liner (fairly intuitive once you unscrew the liner)

I am running the same combo, was rubbing on the frame at full lock, I ended up picking up a set of FJ cruiser wheels to fix it. (5th gen wheels are cheap and also work the same as the FJ)(As do most aftermarket wheels, just more $$)

In this do you mean 5th gen wheels have higher offset? I'm trying to piece my build together before I start making moves and really like the 5th gen ones but want to make sure that in the end I am not going to need spacers.

4th gen has a 30mm offset. 5th gen/FJ 17" wheels have 15mm offset. The smaller offset pushes the wheels out a little more than 1/2" per side. Most aftermarket wheels I've seen will push the wheels out closer to 1" per side. (0mm offset) Spidertrax is another option, but not my personal favorite as it adds an additional point of failure.

See attached, pretty much flush inside the wheel well with FJ wheels. ~2.5"/1.5" lift, not really any rubbing worth mentioning after adjusting fenderliners. 265/70R17 Falken AT3Ws

This set up ended up working perfectly for my needs. Bought everything off of amazon, ebay and craigslist! Hope ya'll like it as much as I do.

Front suspension: OME885 Bilstein 5100s "second notch"
Rear suspension: Procomp FJ 3" Lift springs Bilstein 5100s
Body lift: 2" Fat Pats Body lift
Tires: 285/75/16 Procomp Xtreme Terrains on 16" Cragar steel rims

have you had any issues with the 2" body lift?

I am considering doing a 2" body lift and 2" suspension to get 33s to fit without major cutting..

I have a 2.5" I bought from 4crawler. If you message them they can give you extended height prices. Get the heavy duty hardware and biggest lift blocks and you'll have nothing to worry about. Blocks are bigger than the body mounts and you won't hurt them. Bolts have locking nuts too.

do you have any pictures of your rig?

do you think a 2" BL and 2" lift is a good way to get 4" and be able to run 33s without cutting?

Aloha friend! The 2" body lift was a relatively easy install. The steering spacer is the hardest part. I recommend a 1-1.5" steering spacer if your considering a 2 inch body lift. Due to the angle of the steering column its not a direct straight up and down type of lift as the body.....its an angle. Other than that Id say the radiator shroud and front bumper modification was the next thing. I ended up modifying my shroud to fit without brackets. Basically I cut them to fit the new lift. There are radiator brackets available with different lift packages. (Ill post pics on this) I see the 4crawler lift has great reviews as well and I believe they have the radiator drop brackets as an option too. I went with fat pats bl after seeing another 4th gen with the 2" lift and the delivery was quick which I wanted.

As for fitting the 33's I'm running 275/85/16s which converts to 32.8 x 11.2 rounded up its a 33 inch tire. This is the main reason I went with a body lift is to fit the tires without having to do a body mount chop (BMC). I wanted to be able to return the vehicle to "stock" IF I ever chose to do so in the future. Doing a body mount chop to fit the tires is kool but I just prefer things original. The truck now has room to clear the tires at full turn lock and full compression as well. I needed to trim the fat on my plastic fender liners a bit. It does really good on the trails for my needs. I believe the combo of a 2 inch suspension and 2 inch body will still need some trimming. But only one way to find out. The hard part for me was trying to figure out what was needed for the desired effect. However, every T4R is different. We are all in the same ball park but lifts do have differing results with different vehicles. So I overshot the lift requirements a bit with the help of this forums members posts and stuff. I'm glad it worked well. MAHALOS, HH

Thank you, the local shop around here told me the 5th gen wheel was also 30mm offset so I didn't think it would help at all. I'm trying to go 275/70/17 on a 3/2 lift without having to touch wheel spacers.

Tons on my build thread. The 4crawler comes with everything too. Radiator drop brackets, steering shaft spacer, blocks, bolts, etc. I have 2.5" body lift, Bilsteins with Tacoma TRD coils for ~4" lift in front and Bilsteins, FJ Cruiser rear coils and daystar 1.5" spacer in the rear. I running 35" tires.

Its not even compressed at all and its less than half an inch from the front fenders when all the way turned. I'll look into your suggestions. Here's some pics:

The top picture is bone stock from the day I picked it up. Bottom is after I installed FJ coils/shocks, Daystar 2" spacer up front and 1.5" in the rear. Now I just need some new tires once these wear out.

Fj moog in the rear gave me 1.5, and bilstein 5100's in the fron set at 2.5". Keeps some rake. Now I look at it and think its just begging for some Duratracs....

Still feels a little soft, so I might change the springs to something a little stiffer.

2009 Sport

Finally put on my lift this past weekend. Bilstein 5100's on all 4 corners, OME 2895 Coils in the back. Stock coils in the front with the 5100 set to the tallest setting. Stock tires for now. And Spidertraxx.

Got about 2" in the back, almost 3" in the front. Love the way it rides. Those Billies are legit.

These Ray10's look badass on the GG. Did you have to custom order the bolts to be painted black? it looks like they are silver on the website.
