Quick question whats the point of having rock sliders on a rig that doesnt do any wheeling /off pavement driving? Just cooler looking than running boards im assuming?

In my case, the previous owner put them on. Here's the other problem. If I beat on this thing off road and break it, that will keep me from getting to work as I use my personal vehicle for that purpose.

Before pic with stock XREAS and running boards.
After pic with 5100's set at lowest setting and Wheeler's/Eibach T1 coils in the front and 5100's and Wheeler's/Eibach T12 Springs in back. Gained 3.5" of lift up front and 2.5" in the rear. Did not use a spacer to compensate for the slight 1/4-1/2" lean from the added gas tank and driver weight. Really happy with the ride and not bothered by the small rake. Tires and Wheels are next on the list.

2005 V8 Sport XREAS removed running Bilstein 6112/5160 and Toytec 2" rear coils. JBA UCAs and 1" diff drop. Running 255/80/17 bfg km2s on SCS ray 10 wheels. Looking to get some A/Ts instead but torn between 275/70/17s or 285/70/17. HELP!

Thanks - I sanded down the wheels and repainted with a lighter silver to match the body and clear coat vs the factory limited finish which is a little darker tone.

I did have to trim quite a bit of fender liner (about 5", no fender itself) and the inside of the front mud flaps. With the tires sticking out from the body I didn't want to completely remove the front mud flaps and have debris flying onto the body.

suspension/tire question

In the process of doing the suspension upgrade on my 2003 V8 SR5 @ 146K on the odometer. New Bilstein 5100s all 4 corners, 2014 FJ coils with 3000 miles all 4 corners. 1" rear solid coil/spacer lift. Im torn on what to set the front Bilsteins at, 1.75 or 2.5. Minimal off roading,occasional beach driving. Dont mind a little rake ,definately dont want reverse rake!
Wheels are 2014 4Runner TRD trail edition 17x7.5 et 15mm with 265 70 17s.
Ive read multiple suspension/wheel/lift threads and my head is spinning.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I'd do 285's if you have at least 3" up front should work.

Also, I can get you some cool black tails to match those headlights

I'm sure there are a ton of pictures of this simple setup but it's 2" rough country lift with 1.25" spacers on stock sized 265/70/16 tires.

Just installed my Icon Stage 2 Kit with 285/70/17 Toyo Open Country AT2's on SCS SR's. I have some slight body mount rubbing but thats about it. I pushed forward the fender liner and trimmed a bit off the front and rear of inside the front fenders. all in all it turned out alright and the pups love it!!!

Very nice! i would love to see some more photos of your rig. its the same set up that i want minus the tires. I'd probably go ridge grappler or ko2. oh and i want the ray 10's

Replaced all the suspension with OEM then put the DS 2.5/1.5 spacer kit in. Wheels are the OEM 5th Gen 17s wrapped with Hankook Dynapro AT 265/70s. Currently running Spidertrax but might swap to wheels with different BS to avoid using them.
