Just wanted to let you guys know can custom make any size front/rear spacer you need, and have the lifts on sale. ALSO, when we do the rear spacers, we make the driver side rear spacer THICKER to fix the driver side lean that the 4th gens have (due to gas tank and battery being on that side). So this means the truck will be more level in the rear than it was beforehand

Lift needed?

Hello everyone,

This is my first post and it’s great to have a place to go in finding answers. Thank you all for your feedback ahead of time.

I have a stock sr5 with 265/65/17 tire size and would like to upgrade tires from at to mt. So here is the question would like to know if I get an mt tire that has the same tire dimensions would it be a correct fit even if there is no lift at all?

Whats up everyone. This is my first post on here. Bilstein 5100's all around set at 2.5 in front and using a 1" spacer in the rear to bump it a little bit. Just got my new 17" VTX Viper wheels mounted with Nitto Ridge Grappler 285's today and couldn't be more stoked with how it looks and rides. There was some trimming necessary in order to get the 285's to work, but it wasn't as much as I would have thought.

Very nice! I was wondering why my runner wasn’t sitting level? I put 2.5” spacers all the way around. I’m assuming that I shouldn’t have put the 2.5’s in the rear?

Correct. Yea, you'd want like 1.5" rear with that front setup. Also, remember, we can custom make ANY size you want, front or rear.

I am at 142k on my '08 with XREAS still engage. How do you like the bilsteins with the XREAS removed? Been thinking of doing the same..

I 100% recommend. I can feel the smaller bumps a little more but it rides and handles so much better than the xreas. It gives it a sportier feel. The whole body doesn’t roll on corners anymore and the nose dive improved significantly. I didn’t have any leaks or anything wrong with the xreas, I just wanted a suspension lift. It looks 1000 times better with the suspension lift. Not to mention it rides fantastic off-road. The faster I drive the smoother it gets. I was bouncing all over the place with the xreas.

The ride looks awesome!! I have a white sport edition as well. I’m looking at getting the grapplers, after seeing them on your car I think you’ve confirmed my decision!!

Update!

UPDATE: After a couple days and an alignment, I needed to trim a little more. If I had known from the start, I may have looked at some 275 options but given I already had it all installed, I had already started removing the insides of the genders and so forth so I didn’t care as much at this point . Still super happy with the setup. As for the ridge grapplers, they are amazing. Been Drooling over this tire for a while and finally pulled the trigger.

I really like these Tacoma (I think) wheels, assuming they’ll fit my ‘03?

Also, are they actually 16” rather than the 17” usually found on 4Runners? If so, is that something I should care about one way or the other when it comes to putting new ATs on them?

I don't think that will work. 16's won't clear the calipers or so I heard.

With FJ springs and 5100's all around (front set at 0.85")

Tires are 265/65r17 Cooper Discoverer RTX. They were on there when I bought it, but they aren't bad. I will go up to a 265/70 tire after these.

Springs are C59-300 up front, 385/385mm, 17mm wire, 586LB and C59-505 in the rear, 405/405mm, 17mm wire, 220LB

I was able to pick up some sport edition 6-spoke wheels on the cheap. Unfortunate'y the've got some small 235/55/17s on them that I'll have to have removed/diposed of.

Main problem is that they've got a good amount of chipping on them, so my thought was to black them out before mounting.

What are my options?

Powder coat, spray paint, plastidip?

Assuming I need to sand and clean them before anything, but do I need to have the tires removed first? If I go the plastidip route, should I do everything after they're mounted?

edit - having some Jeep Rubicon take-off BFG M/T 255/75/17s put on them along with a leveling spacer up front

If you go the plastidip route I would apply it all after your tires are mounted and balanced. If you do it before they may peel or rip during installation and the weights may not adhere properly to the plastidip.
I have painted two sets of rims (my winters and summers) and they are holding up great. It's all in the prep work. And sanding down the rims should clear off that flaking on them too
