I was going this route with my V8 vs the build a strut using Bilsteins etc, How much was your end lift and what did you do for the rear to equal it out. Currently stock with a very worn x-reas. Thanks!

Total front end lift from their 3" RS9000XL kit was around 2.85-2.9" new. Im sure it has sagged down to around 2.5-2.6" now.

To level it out in the rear, I run FJ Cruiser coils with a Daystar 1.5" rubber spacer. I had a little rake after things settled down, but after adding my tire carrier, it has leveled out nicely now.

Too bad the gap is so large between the arb and the fenders.

What roof box is that? Any issues with the rearward mounts?

I'm not super excited about the gap either, I'll address it by making some new mounts the next time I need to take the bumper off. The roof box is an old Thule mountaineer.

Who makes those sliders? Are they bolt on or weld?

Mobtown Offroad Weld on Sliders, no kick out. They make awesome, heavy duty stuff you can actually wheel on. They're also nice, helpful guys.

simple is as simple does

AWD V8 driver in LA so tried not to have to spend a paycheck a week in gas.

5100 Bilsteins, 1/2" spacer, 265/70R17 BFG KO2s

Hey guys! I'm a new member to the forum but I've been reading and learning from y'all for a long time now. I've been a lover of the outdoors my whole life, so offroading has always been a part of me, and I've been a Toyota fan for as long as I can remember. Last year my dad passed the family 4runner down to me and I need your help to figure out the best lift options.
It's a 2004 V8 Sport Edition

In about 2011 my dad replaced the shocks all around with Bilstein 5100's but kept the stock springs and he "thinks" he got about 2in of lift all around.
Now the springs seem to be sagging, and I need help deciding what springs to replace them with to get the maximum lift which to my understanding is 3in on the 5100s. Also, is it possible to use spacers on top of this set-up to get more lift, or are the only other options for more lift to either add a body lift or to get a custom lift (aside from the rough country 6in fj lift option)?

I'd like to fit 33's on some wheels that put the tire more flush with the fender. So any opinions on the best wheels for my rig would be awesome as well

To answer your question quickly. With 5100's, you could just get new springs. OME or Toytec and put in for what you need. Do not go spacer on top of 5100's. Your 5100's are several years old at this point, so just getting new spring and shocks wouldnt be a terrible idea. OME 886 front springs would be great for you especially with the bumper. Just adding 886's would fit 33's easily. If you want tires and wheels more flush with edge you have two options. Wheels or hub spacers.

Day star 2.5/1.5 kit Installation

Just ordered the Daystar 2.5/1.5 spacer kit off amazon for $120 today. Local body shop wanted $700 total for installation so I ended up pulling the trigger myself.

I'm going to start off by saying this is a long shot, but does anyone have any suggestions on where to go in the N. Atlanta/Gainesville area to get this done a heck of a lot cheaper? I'll admit I'm a rookie at stuff like this and don't have a garage so working on it myself is looking kinda iffy despite how easy everyone says it is.

Suggestions? Maybe anyone in the area who'd want to make a couple bucks:D

If you wheel it you will want at the least 3/4" gap on the bumper to fender, IMO, you would be surprised how much these things flex the body mounts.

I kept hitting at 3/8", then added 1/2" BL and no more bumper taps to the fender.

I know that. I have an ARB with 3/4” gap.

That 3/4” gap is exacerbated by the body lift. It becomes a near 2” wide seam.

Got some new shoes for the whip!

Switched from the ATX to the General Grabber X3s.

So far, they feel very nice! not much more road noise, and they seem to feel more planted on the streets.

I'll be heading off road this weekend for some more testing.

The rotation was probably only done with an EXIF orientation flag, which gets stripped/ignored when uploading.

4Runner on 34s

Just got my Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws in 285/75/17 put on and I love them. Stock UCA for now so body mount chop was definitely needed along with cutting of the fender, fender liner, and bumper. Wheels are 17x9 with -6mm offset I believe. Sitting on 3.5” front and 2” rear lift heights. Came from 265/70/17

Next is bedlining cladding, a tube bumper, and fenders...possibly body lift...I can’t decide yet
