Local tire shop. It looks like there are extra weights where the dip is missing behind where the old weights were. The scrapes are from rocks off-roading, not from curbs [emoji41].

Not beating up on the guy, but I honestly thought this style of "weights on the outside" of the wheel was history. All I've seen the last 5-10 years are the sticker weights on the insides.

I appreciate the help and perspective. I bought the truck in February and it had wheel weights on the outside. Honestly I didn’t know any better to ask for something different this time around. If I knock a couple off on a trail I know what to ask for next time. Thanks folks!

How do you like the duratracs? Im thinking of getting a set of those in the same size. Did you get a spare in that size as well?
Do you have the driver side lean, or did you use a spacer ? Got a pic of the CV angles ? I’ve lifted a few Toyota’s and usually use an adjustable coil-over so I can make adjustments, but I’m considering the OME setup for this build.
I was looking at the 885/895 setup also.

My sway bar removes my inner wheel mounted weights... I think I'll try balance beads.

I have that OME lift with 5100s on the lowest setting and have no lean fwiw. '04 V6 Sport 4WD

Thanks, I am very happy with it. Well that just depends on your definition of major. It actually wasn't as bad as I was thinking it would be. Rear I just need to pull mud flap. I trimmed rear part of bumper because it looked funny. Front I cut off lower part of inner fender on bumper side and rear of front I cut and welded plate on body mount. About hours work. The good thing about it is I still have tons of suspension travel unlike the lifts.

Ok, that sounds like a reasonable amount of cutting. Thanks! Now I'm wanting to go with bigger tires, haha.

1. Bilstein 5100s + OME 885 coils up front / Pro Comp 3in lift in rear.
2. 285 75r16 Falken Wildpeak MT01s paired with 16in Method NVs with 0mm offset
3. Extremely happy with the results, will be replacing the rear lift to match the front fairly soon though.

The duratracs are great so far. Got them because I do a lot of winter driving and don't have room to store a second set of tires. Minimal road noise and really good traction in the snow. Went for a trail ride in them but didn't get a chance to air down so can't comment too much for off road traction for now. I got a used BFG mud terrain spare for 30 bucks in the same size and fit in the stock location without any modifications.
I was debating between the ko2's and duratracs but ultimately went with the duratracs because they weigh 6 lbs less per tire in that size. No sure if I would have noticed that extra weight, but wanted to retain acceleration and braking performance as much as possible.

Both sides measure at 22.5" from the center of the hub to bottom of the fender flare so no lean on the drivers side and no spacers up front. I actually stumbled upon the lift at the scrap yard - Saw an OME sticker on an FJ, looked underneath and there it was! Scrap yard owner said I could return it if it was no good, so I took the risk, installed it, and it rides great. I like this sping combo because the rear is a bit higher and I often have a bunch of people/gear in the back. This weekend I had five people and a dog and it didn't sag much at all so again, very happy. CV angles look really good in my opinion.
