Leveling concerns
Hi all,
New here. Picked up an 04 a month and a half ago, and after finding a leveling spacer with what I'm assuming Tacoma coilovers for an excellent price, I decided to level. Put it on today, and I'm worried I've got too much lift now. Seems to be about a half inch to an inch higher than the rear. About 22 inches from center hub to fender in front, and 21 and 21.5 from center hub to fender on rears. Is this too much or is this OK? Seemed to drive fine. If it is, I'll get an alignment and call it done. If it's not OK, I'll pull the spacers off and put them on my stock coilovers. Stock tires @ 265/65r17.

It does look slightly nose high, but doesnt look weird. It may settle and come down a few days to a week, especially after driving it.
However, other thought is how much weight will you have in the rear/ will you be towing? if so that would bring the rear down more.
So likely fine as it is. front may settle and come down a bit. Though you could also put a body spacer or new springs on the back.

Just installed a Dobinsons lift kit on my 2005 SR5 V6 4WD and am thoroughly impressed! I have had 5 Toyota trucks, most of them lifted, and this suspension has the best feel. Slightly firmer than stock but it still soaks up bumps on the road very comfortably. I achieved the exact stance and amount of lift that I was hoping for.
Front: C59-300/GS59-221 (with 5mm driver spacer installed)
Rear: C59-505/GS59-705

looks sweet, [MENTION=209110]erzipperer[/MENTION], diggin the wheel style too. also, props on those tires, i have had them almost a year and they are bad ass! i have barely spun a tire in a northeast winter/snow and wheeling nearly every weekend. they are rated as one of the best ATs out there for awhile so i guess it does make sense - and some of deepest tread out there for ATs. i have them in 255/75/17

OK guys, I have a 2007 V6 4x4 sport that I bought new and just hit 100K & it is getting a suspension/wheels & tire upgrade. I'm ditching the X-Reas & going with an OME 883/895E springs & 90021/60004 shocks. As far as rims, I would like to use 2017 Tacoma limited rims that are 18x7.5 and have an 18mm backspacing. What size tires can I use w/o Issues? I didn't plan on running wheel spacers but if I have to then so be it. 265/65/18's???... Any advice would be appreciated

Just installed the Bilsteins 5100 + FJ coils. adjusted to .85" Need new rims & tires next! can i get a recommendation for some bronze rims?

There's some rubbing still. I did do a little trimming. I'm going to move to 17" TRD wheels at some point.

Should be able to clear with that tire size but 7.5 is better than the usual by 7 the toyotas run so that'll help your cause.

I've noticed some driver side sag after installing the 5100 with Moog FJ coils. Its about 1 inch difference. Did anyone use a spacer to fix the sag?

I was thinking about removing the XREAS and replacing with bilstein 5100 all around, and fj springs in the front to level it out. This should provide about 1.5” of lift to the front and give the leveling effect that I want. When you leveled your truck did you reuse the stock front springs with the daystar leveling kit? Also what setting do you have the front bilsteins set at? Thank you, any advice will help. I am new to 4runners (owned an 01 tacoma before this) and am super excited to do some off-roading in it!

Have you decided what you are going to do to fix the sag? I was planning to install the same suspension you did. Would you advise against it now, or do you like it? As far as rims and tires, I like the look of the TRD rims (black for your truck) with bfg ko2 265/70/r17

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think I saw in another one of your posts that your truck is an 03 limited V8 with XREAS and RAS, and you removed the XREAS and replaced with bilsteins before installing the daystar leveling kit? I am about to purchase the same truck (but in black) and was thinking that I would install bilsteins all around (probably set at 0.85” in front) and fj coils up front to level it out. Do you think this is a good idea? Can you comment on what the differences are between leveling the truck with fj coils and bilsteins compared to the daystar leveling kit and bilsteins? Also, what do you have your front bilsteins set at? I really like the way your suspension overhaul turned out so I may consider this if it is a more cost effective approach. Any advice is appreciated, thank you! If anyone else wants to provide input it would also be greatly appreciated.
All - as I type and think, I am wondering if just installing a 1” front spacer to provide about 2” of lift in the front might be the simplest most cost effective approach. Can anyone comment on the positives and negatives off installing a 1” leveling kit to the front of an 03 V8 limited with XREAS and RAS stock suspension? I am weighing different leveling options so that i can install 265/70/r17 bfg ko2s and Graphite TRD rims with no rub. I would also like to do some mild off-roading one weekend of the month.
Please excuse and correct any misinformation in my post, I am new and still learning. Thanks again for any responses!

I am thinking the cause of the driver side lean to be 1" is due to the passenger Rears not sitting correctly. I would advise against buying Moog FJ coils if you don't want to mod the rears to get it seated. That being said.. I went back to the drawing board and ordered the Toytec Superflex rear coils and a 1/4 top plate spacer to throw on the front driver side (if theres a lean). I will probably have some rake with the bilsteins set at .85". Might adjust to 1.75" to level out the car.
