Thats a pretty good deal. I think they'd look sweet but im partial to a wider tire set up, looks meaner imho. I only got these cause they were 200 bucks for 5 tires, would've gotten a smaller size because this thing is much much slower now.

Going from the stock size tire (265/65/17) to my current size (285/75/17), I could definitely feel a difference in accelerating and braking. But i bet difference between a 285/70/17 vs a 285/75/17 is less noticeable. Once these tires wear out, I will probably be dropping to a 285/70/17

Dobinson's stuff finally went on. Turns out my all my cam bolts are frozen/seized so I'll need new ones and LCAs to align correctly...then my trail wheels and 285s go on! :bluejump:

I’ve been doing research for awhile now but need some final clarification from the experts here before I purchase new tires.

I have an 07 4Runner Limited with Bilstein 5100’s set at the lowest perch along with Wheelers T1 and T12 springs. I’d like to stick with the stock 18” wheels and go with Duratracs in a 275 65/18 size.

I know I’ll have to push the fender liners up and remove the front mud flaps but I also read that I may need spacers to clear the UCA’s. I’d prefer not to use spacers or do a BMC. UCA’s are stock and again, I’d rather not change these out unless absolutely necessary.

Does anyone here envision any serious problems with the tires size I listed above? Thanks!

17x9 RRW wheels with -12 offset. I rub a bit so I got an Eibach lift kit that will be installed this week or next.

TR: daystar 2.5 front only, MB 352 +18 offset 285/70/17

BL: Bilstein 5100, front OME 885, JBA uca, rear Toytec Superflex, 1.25" spidertrax

BR: added +4in lift spindle and 1.5in rear spacer/ Level 8 mk6 -12 offset and 1.25" spidertrax

Bilstein 5100’s with the front set at 0. Front has Toytec Eibach springs with 1/2” aluminum spacer on driver side and 1/4” passenger. Rear Bilstein 5100’s with Toytec super flex.

I’d bought an OME .40” spacer for the rear too (couldn’t find 1/4”) but seemed too thick so I chose not to put it in. Not sure if it will matter with only adjusting for driver side lean on the front and not the rear? At some point I may sand down the spacer to 1/4” and throw it in the rear if possible.

Level 8 gunmetal grey wheels, 0 offset (thank you to Drift Monkey for the suggestion, I like them) with TRD center caps. I gained close to 1.75” negative offset with the new wheels if my math is correct, either way they definitely protrude more. Falken Wildpeak 275/70/17. Pushed the fender liners forward on the front and removed the front mud flaps to stop tire rubbing.

I have 265 70 17’s on when I was stock for over 3 years with no rubbing but I feel like everyone has a different story to tell. Good luck!

Stock suspension was shot so I went with a budget lift. Bilstein 5100's and OME 885/895. BFG KO2 285/70R17 on 17x9.

Did you have to do a body mount chop?

I have a similar setup and looking at upgrading wheels/tires. Once my new LCAs get in and can get it aligned. D@mn frozen cam bolts!

To add to what DarkKnight put, I do rub even after the mud flap removal. Nothing a bit a trimming couldn't fix but went with a lift kit instead. With everything going on, I've yet to install it. I will soon and report back.

Ooh that sucks! PB Blaster didn't help loosen them? I haven't done the BMC yet. I do plan to do it eventually. So far, I've only been using the 4R for going to and from work and running errands.

Finally got my lift so I thought I'd share. Not many 4th gens seem to have this kit on the forum from the research I've done. Most of the info is on the 5th Gen forum.

2004 SR5 V8, Eibach Pro Truck Lift, Stage 1 Kit. Front and rear springs + shocks. 2.5" front, 1" Rear. 10mm trim packer for drivers side lean. 12% stiffer than stock, great on and offroad performance. Made to work with all stock components.

Tires are 275/70/16 BFG KO2, 31" D Rated, 8 Ply. I have not seen anyone on here with this tire size either, not as common but I went for the wider tire.

The OME trim packer is for the rear, it fits on top of the bump stop. It gives about 1/2 inch of lift to compensate for the lean from the gas tank.
