Are you talking about the top spacers on the strut mounts?

Got the 05 a few weeks ago and knowing that it needed new shocks and tires, I started going through numerous threads on T4R, seeing different builds and photos. The vehicle will share daily duties with my trusty 2001 Taco, however its not soo roomy in the back for my daughter. Will it be used for off road? Maybe, for some camping and really mild trails. What i wanted was a really a mild/level lift, and i prefer not the stock rake, but very mild. It was more my vision to have the front fender gap almost level with the rear fender gap, a touch lower would have been ok. I didn't want to add preload unless I got the spring choice way off.
Components: Bilstein 5100's @ 0, OME UCA's, OME 883s, Whiteline lower control arm bushings, KYB Strut mount assemblies, Wheelers 3/8 and 1/4 top spacers, for the rear just the 5100's with stock springs. OEM TRD Wheels with 265/70's
Install notes: Rears shocks were easy enough to do at home, I also had all the parts so I took the time to assemble the front shocks/springs/strut mounts/top spacers before heading to my buddies shop. LCA: If I had to do it again, probably just buy OEM LCA. It ends up costing roughly the same if not more in labor - unless you are doing yourself. However, my buddy did say it was a real PITA to do the bushings.
RESULTS:
Lift from 300k suspension:
Overall front lift from wheel to fender 5.125 driver, 4.875 passenger.
Rear with just the shocks: ~3/8 to 1/2 (measured but didnt write down)
So as it sits its to both front fenders:38.5
Rear: 36.75 | 37 rear
I will put some miles on it, and will assume the front will settle with the new springs. I'll measure again later and decide if i need to get springs/lift for rear.

Hey man I was in the same boat but I went ahead and pulled the trigger on 5 KO2's in this size, been waiting weeks for discount tire to get them in though cause they only had 2 in stock but once they're in I'll post things up. I have a dobinsons IMS lift with probably about 3.5in in the front and 4.5-5in in the rear, SPC UCA's, no front sway bar, extended travel rear with 2in bumpstop drops, super pro extended control arms, and most importantly a 1in body lift. I got my spare mounted up and used it for test fitting and cutting. I then have a bmc, cut away inner fender, hammered the pinch weld, trimmer the front bumper slightly and might have to cut the rear bumper a little. Probably enough to even fit 35s but I wanted to be able to go full stuff without rubbing things like crazy. This size is big enough though where you either gotta be willing to cut a lot or have the perfect setup, or just be a mall crawler and never flex things out ahahah. Pm if you want some photos of things so far, I'll start a build thread eventually.

Right on! I'd really love to see the final product. I'm already committed to getting a BMC and pinch weld mod, I already got a quote from a local fabricator that will bang out both. I also already have a 3/2 lift with SPC uppers, but was looking at Dobinsons to get an extra inch or two, and coincidentally was just looking at that Toytec 1" body lift. We're in the same boat, lol. Although I'm considering the Yokohama Geolandar MT's or Nitto Ridge Grapplers in that size. Keep us posted!
EDIT: BTW which DObinsons springs did you end up going with?

For springs I have the dobinsons 314 in the front and the 677v in the rear. Don't have any extra weight right now but figured I will in the near future so that's why it's extra tall right now. Also I did the 4crawler 1in body lift instead of toytec for the better quality. So far the dobinsons stuff rides absolutely amazing even with the lack of front sway bar but I haven't been able to test it much cause my CV issue and my lack of tires. Only reason I chose the KO2's is cause I wanted to keep things as light as possible and they're overall a pretty damn good tire.

2006 SR5 w/ Rough Country 2" and KYB Shocks and Struts
Hello! First post. I have a 2006 4runner V6 that is surviving New York rust. I recently added the Rough Country 2 inch lift kit (front and back) and the KYB Strut Plus Complete to add an additional 1.5 inch lift to the front, plus the KYB Excel-G shocks. The tires are GoodYear Wrangler Duratrak on the factory 17 inch rims.
I tried to do the work myself in my gravel driveway but everything was too rusted. I took it to a local shop and they charged me $228 to do the shocks, struts, lift kit, and linkages that I supplied. I was stoked!! My hood is now taller than my wife's Hummer H3!

Just sold my 2004 v8 with 210,000 miles on the clock and got this 2006 with 105K. Still had the original xreas shocks. Those were the first to go. Threw on an Icon extended travel system.

This is exactly what I’m going for. So you did nothing to the rear suspension? Your 4Runner I looks tuff!
Finally got my wheels and tires on after about 3 months of re doing the entire front end and trimming prep. Still needs more trimming but super happy to have been able to get this setup to work. Running 5100s all around with some rough country springs as a temp setup. Phase 2 will be to lower the truck on either a Dobinson MMR setup or going full OEM + and running TRD Pro 5th Gen 4Runner Fox's. Wheels are 16x8 -25mm and tires are RT's 315/75/16.

Looks awesome! The Toyo R/T is in my top 2 for my next tire. I know you just put them on, but any first impressions, thoughts, regrets? It's hard to find a lot of people who have R/T's.
EDIT: On second glance, your front bumper was cut for more clearance right? It's super subtle but done VERY well. Kudos.

Thank you! I've ran a few tire setups (Cooper ST Maxx's, Toyo MTs, and Duratracs) and so far these have been great. Toyos are always known to balance super well and the road noise has been at a minimum for 35's. I can update you later once I've got some time on the dirt with them.
Yes I cut the front and rear bumpers down to get more clearance. The 4th gens have some bulky OEM bumpers. My brother and I are actually working on starting a company and have been prototyping 3rd gen and 4th gen armour products and will be going after an OEM+ look - keeping things super light weight and clean and simple. We will be utilizing a factory cut bumper design within our designs. I will start a thread for the 4th gen items once we begin testing.
