Lift and Tire Central (pics)... Post 'em Up!

hi, Im new here and trying to figure out my lift/ tire/ rim options.
I am working on getting set up for off roading / overlanding. I am going to do a 3" suspension lift and I would like to get bigger tires, Id really like to go up to 33" if possible but I am not sure if they would fit. If you were starting from scratch what would you do. Im thinking of doing a small body lift to help with better clearance for bigger tires but I dont want to go too big and throw of the center of gravity. Im having a hard time finding good options for low profile bumpers too, any hints?

All depends on your goals and budget - rock climbing, desert riding, just general aggressive looks. How expensive or economic do you want in a suspension, whats your budget for wheels/ tires, do you need added protection - sliders, skid plates, off road bumpers/ recovery points

Lots of reading. - scan through this thread to get ideas.

Good looking 4runner, not too many folks running with 18 tires. Ive got 275/65/18's and using limited wheels at the moment, what offset are your visions?

Thanks! The offset is -12. I went with 18-in wheels because that's what was on it new. In hindsight it would be better off-road to have more tire and less rim. I'll just have to be careful.

Hi! I'm in the process of lifting my 4runner and love how yours looks. I saw another thread in which you said you the front is sitting at 37.5" and the rear is at 38.75" and was curious how much you lifted from the original.

Mine has a 2" body lift that I plan on replacing but the front is currently sitting at 36" and rear is 37". I'm planning on getting the OME Lift 885/895 but it doesn't seem like I'm going to get to the same height as yours.

Thanks in advance!

Just converted from stock springs with Bilstein 5100's set at 1.75" ring to level.

OME 885/895 With Nitro Sport Shocks all around
BFG A/T KO 265/70/17 with Spidertrax 1.25" spacers
Absolutely in love with this setup, I did't realize just how bad my ride was till I drove the OME's!!

Now to start on some armor!

I like the Level 8's but I may have to consider the ones you have. They look like they poke out just about right to my eyes.

Yes - one of things you dont think about until its a problem - bigger lift and bigger tires make it a pain to jack when you need to!

I've got Level 8's with a -12 offset if you're wanting to see how that looks. I can PM you more pictures if you're interested! I love the road presence the -12 offset gives... it sticks out just a tad and IMO looks much better than zero offset.

Been wanting to post my rig for a while now. Finally feel like it's average at best.

5100's all around. Toytec front coils, superflex rears. Limited wheels wrapped in 275/70/18.

Yes, these 35s are on the 7" TRD wheel. A poor man's bead lock as it were.

I have 18" wheels, thought the level 8's only came with 0 offset. But hey would be interested in more photos.

That looks super clean! You have any side profile shots? I have the same tires in the same size waiting to go on, what did you end up having to trim/cut for fitment?

had to take off the rear mud flap and trim, the front need a BMC, the pinch weld to be folded back (if you actually wheel it), and a good amount of trimming

Lift and new wheels

bought mine used with everything stock. Had a shop install my lift with the 3" rough country suspension lift kit redid the front suspension from stock at the same time. Also upgraded to 285/70/17 bfg ko2 tires with a cheaper but better looking option for rims, vision manx2. My runner was a salvage title and got smashed on the front end passenger side so with the bigger tires I'm rubbing on the body mount at the back of the wheel well but the driver's side I only had to trim the front end of the wheel well liner to keep it from rubbing. Any tips on getting the tire more centered in the wheel well on the smashed side? I have access to welding tools. Also any tips on checking my clearance at full compression? I'm good for driving around town but I think I'll have some issues off road.

Been meaning to make a build thread on here but haven't quite got around to it yet and don't think I've posted any pics of my rig as of late so here it is with the big boy tires! 285/75r17 KO2's on FN Konig Countersteers, wanted to keep things as light as possible at each corner and I'm glad I did, barely notice the increased stress.
