Help for newbie 4Runner owner please!

Hello everyone! I just became the proud owner of an 08 V6 Limited in Nautical Blue and I am swapping from the 18 inch wheels to the 17 inch Trd pro wheels and I have a few questions. I also will be swapping the shocks to the bilstein 5100’s all around as soon as they arrive just to level the vehicle.
1. Are 265/70R 17 tires I ordered (Michelin defender LTX M/S) going to be adequate or should I change sizes to wider or shorter?
2. The shocks are going to be on stock springs for now, what settings should the shocks be set to most likely to achieve the level look? With a little bit down on the front obviously!
3. Are there any concerns I should have from going to these wheels over the factory ones and these new tires?
Thanks to anyone in advance that can help clear this up for me, a little overwhelming in my head right now and I can’t seem to get a straight answer online and from searching here for my specific questions!

I assume you figured this out by now. You should be fine. The trd wheels will sit out a little further so more likely to rub when turning, but should be okay with that size wheels. I’d recommend the 1.25 perch for leveling

Anyone have a 4th gen on Eibach pro kit with rear squat? Ive had mine with the 1" rear springs now for over a year and the rear squats pretty aggressively. Front is on lowest perch. No steel bumpers or anything on rear, totally stock.

I already have a small spacer on the Driver side to fix lean, dont really want to have huge spacers. im wondering if a heavier/taller rear spring would help some...maybe i need to contact Eibach

I believe the slots are 0, 0.85'', 1.25'', 1.75'' and 2.5''

at 1.75'' youd be likely level to slightly reverse rake, especially with any weight in the rear

I only had 17" wheels and went from 265 65 to 265 70... Michelin defender LTX. Tires are super. Snow rain and stopping on dry are above expectations.

Going up one size was great for highway mileage as I am easy on the throttle, and it'll show 5% lower miles than driven. My GPS showed 1.9 miles right when I passed 2 mile markers n the highway.

Going up one size was noticable torque loss in all gears. I lived on a steep driveway, and now I tow a small camper and I don't care for the power loss. I'll go back to 265 65s when these tires are done.

I would contact them, almost sounds like they sent you the wrong springs or something. I've got the Eibach kit on my '03 v8 with the front on the 2nd perch, and the rear is still taller with their springs by about a half inch. No aftermarket bumpers/etc.

I was looking at the same lift today online. How much lift did you get front and rear? When you say "second position", do you mean the 3.4" slot (and do you have extra weight? I am looking at this for a V6 Limited, so I suppose I should do the 2.75" slot. This is from the install instructions:

I have the V8. I gained about 2.3" in front and a bit over an inch in the back. The V8 is only supposed to lift 1.8" in the first position, so at the second setting, my numbers conveyed almost exactly as advertised. I do not have any extra weight on the vehicle.

Recently put 33s on I went with Toyo open country atIII and I’m loving them. Got to really test them out today on some trails with my buddies back up truck (which got stuck) but that was no problem for this truck pulled his truck right out. I’ve had this t4r for around 3 years now and every day I grow more and more fond of it. It’s done so many things for me and given me so many headaches as well, but it’s all worth it.

You should be good. Before I had my lift I had tires a little bigger than yours it’ll probably cause a little rubbing but that’s not a crazy big issue as long as you put a lift on sooner rather than later.
