I am probably the only woman on this site so her goes... I have an 04 Runner Sport Ed 4WD/V8. I am ready to make some upgrades so I would like some advice. I have been to 4wheelParts and they were nice but I left ready to spend some money... with my stock 4runner. My off road experience includes desert, dunes, and Moab with my UTV. I would love to go "full size" but still use my Runner as a daily driver. I don't want to change the great "ride" that it has too much. I understand that I have to decide if I want to get rid of the XREAS and how high I want the car to sit. Most of the info on this site are do-it-yourself mods. I would need to rely on someone to do the work for me.

Welcome to the site! You're definitely not the only woman; I'm not one, but I know of at least JAC, MSBXRUNNER, GG Beast being female members with lifted 4th gen 4runners, and several others with stock 4runners.

You should look through this thread and browse all the pics (yeah I know 46 pages is a lot but most setups are documented in here) to see what you like.
The XREAS won't be a big deal (whether you keep it or not) and 4WP should be able to install everything for you.

I'm in the same situation as you except I'm not a woman (as of April 21'st 2009 anyway). I want to have a beefy truck that can handle offroading but also serve as a comfortable and somewhat practical daily driver. I decided to stick with XREAS now simply because of the cost associate with upgrading the whole suspension (will get to this in a year or two i suspect). I went with the cornfed 3/2 spacer lift and goodyear duratrac 275/65/18 (32") tires. I am happy with how it turned out. I was scared it might be to much lift but it's just right. I took the advice of a member on here who told me to skip the 2/1 and just go for the 3/2 because thats what I'll end up wanting anyway. The duratracs are an excellent tire for our purpose. Great tire with an aggressive look and good offroad and in the snow but still relatively quiet on the road and handle the pavement well.

I had my OE limited wheels refinished bronze, installed 1" spidertraxx all around, and 1" daystar levelers upfront. Thanks to everybody for the good information provided regarding the best lift solution for my needs.

Tires will happen at the end of this summer. need suggestions for beefy yet somewhat quiet tires if anybody wants to share....

out of curiousity why did you decide to stay with stock size tires?

My truck is a 2 wheel drive and other than the occasional fire road to get me to the MX track, this is a pavement cruiser. I have no intention of wheeling it. With the stock size tire there is no rubbing, cutting or speedo problems. I went with a nine inch rim to get the width, but I didn't want to go oversized on the tires. The truck came with 17", so I bumped it up to 18" to stay in the same overall diameter.

the subaru is what i had in mind when I chose bronze. wouldn't have tried it otherwise.

Anyone know a good place in Maryland preferred the Baltimore, Anne Arundel County area where I can get my 4runner lifted? Stopped by a few places but didn't feel comfortable with them doing my lift. Just want a place that does quality work. Thanks guys!!

I'm not too familiar with the work of either of these companies, however if you ever come across East Coast Offroad (ECO 4x4), stay away!. I've personally seen their work and not impressed with some of the hack jobs they've done.
