Lift help please!!??

I have an 06 2wd. I want to level my front and get airbags in the rear for towing my boat. Are 2.5" spacers in the front to high, or since Im putting bags in the rear will it be fine? Also, will it look too high and look bad with my stock tires? I have heard that a 1 inch in the front will level it but the front is at least 2.5 inches lower than the rear. Does anyone have experience with this and/or any pics that will help my decision. Thanks for your help!!

Several have gone through this. 2" would be great if you like a little rake 2.5" is perfect if you like level. I have the airbags, they don't affect the rear much, 1/2"-3/4" with 15-17psi. If you want to run them that hard all the time 2.5" would be ok. If you tow a lot 2" is a better answer IMHO.

Stock tires will look ok with 2" and airbags. They won't look quite right but they won't look ridiculously small or anything.

My signature is setup as hyperlinks to my mods... I have a .75 Cornfed spacer lift, 4 FJCruiser spings and Airlift 1000 in the rear. If I had to name my lift it'd be a 1.5"/.4".

From what I have read/been told, a 1" spacer will yield a 2" lift in the front only. The rear lift is a 1:1 ratio. A 0.5" rake is not a bad thing IMO.
 
I think that article made me more confused! I just want it to be as level as I can get it and it seems a 1inch will not get there and 2.5in will be too high and I cant seem to find just a 2in that will yield 2inches of lift!! :confused: any suggestions? Thanks

Jason at Burtman industries will sell you anything you want. I would suggest buying a 2/1 from him or somebody else and sell the rear spacer for $10 or something... Or better yet have him sell you just the front spacers. They have a rep for very good follow through. Nothing happens too quickly but it happens.

I'm also looking to do a front leveling lift. For clarification, given the 2:1 ratio for front spacer kits (discussed in great detail in this forum) please tell me if my logic is correct:

1" Daystar Front Budget Boost Kit = 2" total front lift

2"/1" Cornfed kit would actually result in 4" front lift because of the 2:1 ratio??

My question is, does the 2/1 Cornfed kit alreay acount for the 2:1 ratio, or is it actually only 1" of material resulting in 2" of total front lift?

The cornfed 2/1 results in 2" of lift in front and results in 1" of lift in rear.

Everyone suppposedly advertises their product in total lift result, not size of material.

With that said - that Daystar budget boost has confused me in the past. I was about to buy it and called daystar and they said it was 1" of material and would also yield 1" total lift... completely contrary to what everyone has told me on this site. So I didn't buy and have been staring at the toytec/cornfed's levelers since.
 
hammersc, roger. That's exactly what I'm going through. So the question now is "Who has installed the 1" Daystar Budget Boost and how much lift did they get"? I've searched and can't find an answer to this, however many say they have it.

Agreed, everything posted on this board indicates that the 1" Daystar leveling kit will get 2" actual once on the truck...why is there so much confusion about a simple $40 part!!??
 
I'm beginning to think that the Daystar's are actually 1/2" of material making them a 1" lift. That would conform to the 2:1 ratio. I wish someone who bougt them could confirm.

Also, any thoughts to the need for alignment after just the 1" front spacer lift?
 
Usually the numbers indicated are the amount of lift you will get out of it.

example- 2/1 Cornfed lift (as advertised) should yield you approx 2" F and 1" rear

I personally like some rake . 2" would look to nose high to me , but it seem like things vary a little from vehicle to vehicle. The was a member here who's 4R had a huge rake from the photo's he showed , could have been the angle though.
 
Get the alignment immediately after the install, then retorque everything added after a few hundred miles.

Daystar budget boost looked perfect for me until Daystar themselves told me their 1" of material will result in 1" lift. I asked like 3 times to make sure the representative and I were on the same page and that's what they said.

Now I'm exploring the WheelersOffRoad daystar 1.25" lift/leveler. I'm wondering if it's the same thing as Budget boost - sure looks like it and is priced the same but hard to tell. If it yields 1.25" of front lift that is all I want.

I'm with you completely!! I too am just looking for 1-1.25" lift. I can't make sense of the Daystar issue either, but am hoping someone on this forum will pipe up and tell us whether it's actually 1" material AND whether they got 1" or 2" lift after install.

The part number I keep coming accross for the 1" Daystar lift is DAYKT09117BK. Does that sound right to you? 4wheelparts sells it for about $38 +shipping and advertises it as a 1" lift (calling it the "ComfortRide Suspension Strut Kit")...not sure what happened to the Budget Boost name that others keep talking about.

I'm also eyeing wheelersoffroad 1.25" Daystar leveler (same price as the 1" from 4wheelparts), although wheelersoffroad doesn't provide a part number and that makes me a little nervous. I like the fact that the photo of their part is actually black compared to the generic photo red spacers that most others use.

We'll figure this out soon enough hopefully. I just ordered 5 265/70/17's from NTB today, and they should be arriving in 2-3 days for install. At this point it looks like I'll have the tires on first then the lift, meaning I'll have to bring it back for an alignment.

I was unable to find anyone on the entire site that was using this p/n from Daystar which makes me apprehensive.

On 3 different sites there are 3 different pictures of the same p/n, and not only are they different colors, but different markings and grooves too. I'm not sure Daystar has it together, at least that's the current impression I'm getting from all this inconsistency. Although it could just be the distributor not having it right.

I just want 1.25" of damn lift. I'm tired of searching. Someone tell me what to get.
 
In the past I have contacted Daystar 3x to inquire about lifts and I know they were wrong in what they were telling me .....not to mention rude as hell.
