Lift questions. More than just springs and shocks

Fellow runner owners,

A couple questions/concerns about 3 inch lifts:

Background: bought my 4runner trail new with a dealer installed ready lift 3/2 spacer kit. Was already on when truck was purchased along with 285 toyo at 2s.

I thoroughly inspected the setup and saw there was no different drop, no sway bar relocates, no UCAs of course.

Now, that said, I've since upgraded to toytec 2.0 Superflex coils in rear, and OME 883s in the front with adjustable 5100s. I've ready ad nauseum about UCAs and the difference drop and the debate there and I'm leaning in that direction. But lesser discussed issues, like sway bar relocate and brake line extensions I've struggled to find info on.

Can anyone she'd some insight on this? should sway bar relocate be installed? How about brake line extensions.

3 inches and overland/camping type of off road is what my truck is exposed to. No extreme wheeling.

Lots of highway driving.

I would recommend upgrading the UCAs. There's at least a handful of good UCAs to pick from. Personally, I've had good luck with SPC and Camburg. With aftermarket UCAs, you can get the caster angles back up where they should be and that will improve stability on the road.

No need for a diff drop.

No need for longer brake lines in the front but you may want to double check the rear brake lines. You may just have to bend the bracket down a bit to give them some slack.

No need for sway bar relocation brackets unless the sway bar is hitting the 5100s.

UCAs not required but a really good idea. Most people who don't start with them, end up with them in the long run.

Stock brake lines are plenty long enough. Extensions only required for long travel.

Swaybar relocation/spacer is only required if you get contact with the coil over.

Thanks for the advice. I do get a noticeable knock when breaking in reverse. Feel it in steering column. Might be the sway bar.
