Limamike's CUSTOM Shrockworks bumper install

Your rig is looking great Lima. Nice job to you Duc and your team. Just a thought, I can't help but wonder if the Toyota emblem will look a bit low when it is all finished. Is this something that can be easily changed once it is all put together? Looking forward to seeing the completed project.
 
You guys are kind. But I'm sure there are plenty of capable shops in SoCal. I'm actually a little jealous of the amount of competition that's out there. Maybe it's my perception, but I thought all the custom stuff came from SoCal?

Limas got the emblem held on with double sided tape. So we'll see how it all comes together and move it around.
 
I assume Mike isn't going with a winch, otherwise how are you going to get clearance between the Rigid light bar and his front license plate?
 
Looks great. On my short list WHEN I smash up my front bumper.

Questions - What was the reasoning for welding the Rigid bracket instead of using bolts in case another new super light comes out and he wants to change? And, any concern with the light being the first thing hit since it "seems" to stick out a bit?
 
Bobby - your guys never cease to amaze me.

Maybe one day I'll utilize them for more than just alignments and tire balancing :sobbing:


Lima - you better hope you get back from AZ faster than I can get to Bobby's shop once that bumper comes back from powder coat.

ahhh...very good question philly-san.

The light does protrude slightly further than the bumper. This bumper is/was not designed as a stinger nor a fire dept brush truck. If you intend on pushing small saplings and trees with your truck, then you'll need to let us know so that we can accomodate that. Stingers are designed to prevent possible tip overs and to protect vital engine components during a rollover. This was DEFINITELY not designed for that. After speaking with Lima on design concept, this was the best way to go about it, IMO.

The hoop will give it some direct impact protection, but mainly, the Shrockworks bumper is much closer to the factory grill than the original bumper. The shackle mounts are also further out than the light. There would be no room for the light installation or grill removal. The factory grill is directly attached to the top of the factory bumper. Shrockworks provides a "bracket" to install the bottom part of the grill.
 
Sorry guys, I was out with the good ole streptococcus yesterday. I did, however, talk my guys into taking some progress pics.

This is exactly why these pics are "antman"ish. But, never the less, my guys did as they were asked.
