Limited Driver's Seat Hard Spot in Backrest

Have any of you had problems with the 4Runner seats? If so, how did you solve the problem(s)?

We were among the first few in the door of the Orange County Auto Show yesterday, and they had a 2014 4Runner Limited on display. The driver's seat has a hard spot which was very annoying. I think it may be the bottom of the lumbar support. I felt for the hard spot, got out, put my hand there, and then operated the lumbar support control. I'll go look at them and see if I can either rent one or get a good 120 mile test drive, but a bad seat is most certainly something which would rule out buying the thing.

I test drove a 2014 Limited 2WD yesterday and noticed the exact same thing! I'm 6'2 and 180lbs, so relatively tall and slender. The seat felt quite hard and flat. The lumbar support seems to be in the wrong place for my frame.

If it would simply be firm and not contribute to back pain, I could live with it. But there's no way to tell without an extended 3 hr test drive which they won't let me do. Honestly the seat comfort was disappointing and could potentially be a huge deal breaker, which sucks because the 2014 was my top choice for my next ride based on specs/features, and the rest of the truck was awesome.


I may try to go back next weekend for another test drive.

I found the seats in my 4th Gen LTD much more comfortable than those in the 5th Gen.
