will I be the first one to try this? cutting out a slot in the front chrome bumper cover and will insert a custom made aluminum housing into the hole where the light bar will be held. gonna look very clean and be very functional (doesnt block rad etc.). Pictures as soon as the aluminum box is ready and im brave enough to start cutting into the bumper cover. Pumped about the end result

I thought about doing that too but wasnt sure how it would look. Good luck cause id love to see how it turns out!

Installed a Prinsu 3/4 length rack a couple weeks back and am loving it so far.

Got it done today. Gonna look pretty great mounted in the front chrome grille. Gotta polish it and the cut into the plastic for mounting. Fingers crossed.

How did you cut out the bumper area?

Started with a Dremmel/cut off wheel then went to a Multicrafter tool with an oscillating blade. The plastic is very easy to cut. There are 3 layers of plastic to go through and I just went one layer at a time. Make sure to move the wiring out of the way that is clipped into the last layer in the engine compartment.

Posted this in a different thread, but I thought it be useful for the LE thread as well.

Just installed the Shrockworks sliders and their TE trim.

I think my next project will be blacking out the roof rails. I am leaning on keeping the chrome accents for the front and rear. They are starting to grow on me. But the ultimate goal is to do the conversion. I'm going to hold off on that a little longer. Need to pace myself, it's getting expensive.

Sweet. I was contemplating about putting a light bar in the front and this helped solve my dilemma. I didn't want to use the grill space above the chrome trim because of the TOYOTA letterings I added and didn't want to do below because I eventually want to add a hitch receiver.

I bought if off a member on here. I'm not sure where he got it from or if he made it himself, but these guys sell custom grills.
