Limited Edition Mod Thread

Thanks. I had a 1inch cornfed installed and aligned prior to getting the tires. Prior to asking the shop to try and get more caster, would you try the heat gun first?

i did try the heat gun first when i had rubbing, but just ended up removing that small piece in the long run as there arent any issues without it. take it off and see what you think--super easy to add back on if you aren't a fan

Will do. Thanks

Try to see exactly where the rubbing occurs. If it’s in the corners of the liner, a simple push forward and re-drill should work. But if it’s in the center of the liner, that’s where the heat gun and a short stick works well.

So I just picked up a 2020 Limited and I've been researching what it takes to go to a TRD bumper. Anyone have any experience with the Safety Sense and bumper change?

As far as I know, this hasn't been done yet. I don't know if there are different aspects of safety sense between different trim but I would assume (in the most literal sense) that it shouldn't be a problem and the wiring should be the same. Keep in mind this is all conjecture on my part but I don't see why it would be different. You could be the pioneer and be the first to do it.

i did something similar but without the safety sense. but since all the 2020 have them including the TRD OR and the TRD Pro, it should be a simple bumper swap.

please take a look at my build thread in my signature which may have some answers for me. just PM if if you have further questions and i'll gladly answer.

Here are my 2020 Nightshade Mods.

- Tinted the windows dark.
- Got the netting for the back cargo area.
- Perfect fitting sunshade (heatsheild)
- Center Console tray + organizer
- Glove Compartment Organizer

Want to do.
- Thinking about removing the step rails. I kinda hate how low it makes it look.

I really wish the limiteds didn't look so low.

simple, just remove the limited rocker panels and replace them with the SR5/TE/TRD ones. this way it opens up many options for running boards, steps or sliders. this will also make the sides look higher :)

Spidertrax with oem trail wheels and tires. No rubbing at all! Every search I found on this forum said that I would rub slightly with OEM tires. Not always the case I guess! Looks much better, especially with the limited as the body kit makes the tires look so tucked

Just curious, did you try this wheel/ tire combination before adding the spacers? If so, was there any rubbing before adding the spacers? I just bought a set of 2018 Off Road wheels for my Limited and was planning to install with OE size AT tires.

No It did not, it doesn’t rub with the spacers either which is what was questionable from reading other posts. Without spacers you will not rub on OEM size tires. Wheel spacers usually CAUSE rubbing not the other way around!

Ah gotcha. Thanks for your reply!

I had 275 55 20 duratracs installed yesterday and have a slight rub reversing in full lock on this plastic tab. What should I try first?

That entire piece comes out pretty easily. I removed mine and left the mud flap on, then pulled fender liner forward. Running Spidertrax and stock TRD Pro wheels.
