Limited Edition Mod Thread

Man so much better. Never was fond of the limited front bumper and all it’s chrome. I did the same thing to my limited too. May I ask what bug shield that is. I like the low profile look of that one

I have two extra shrockworks rocker panel end caps with hardware if anyone is interested in just covering the ends after removing the OEM panel. PM me if interested.

Has anyone else experienced this before?
My 4Runner makes this concerning grinding/creaking noise when shifting from reverse into drive.

I can't tell if I'm getting bored during quarantine or really thinking about changing up a few things, but I have a few questions/solicitation for opinions.

Preface: My preferred aesthetic is something like: Limited without the 20" wheels and gaudy chrome so it still looks OEM but more rugged than the factory Limited. I respect the other builds with lifts, bumpers, etc. but I use my 4R for fishing trails and weekend excursions, so prefer a more mild setup. I have done a partial blackout on the front end, swapped to Tundra/Sequoia wheels, HIDs, etc. Comparatively mild.

I've been thinking about three things:

1) Swapping to the TRD pro grille. I know this has been beat to death but I've been a little zoned out over the last 6 months-year due to work and personal stuff. Is this still ~$600 for the OEM parts (TOYOTA bar and upper insert), or like $200 from cartrim? I'm trying to figure out how I feel about this one... I don't mind the emblem, but the fact that it sits on top of the bar instead of center on it has always bugged me. The horizontal bar with T O Y O T A seems a bit cleaner to me, which I like. Thoughts?

2) Has anyone here tried or thought about swapping to the wood/leather steering wheel from the Prado or 1794 edition Tundra? I know the 1794 Tundra tends to have a more orange/red colored wood trim, but the wood on some of the steering wheels is somehow darker (sorry, Tundra owners) and much closer to our plastic/wood trim color. There also seems to be some variation... the last two 1794 Tundras I was in had the darker wood steering wheel, but I've also seen 1-2 with the more red/orange that matches the rest of the 1794 interior. I feel like it could look really good if the wood matched:

3) Also thinking of swapping to the 2019+ TRD PRO roof rack since it's more functional. Has anyone else done this? Pics? Thoughts on noise?

I didn't find too many pictures of Limited's with the Pro grille when I had searched before so I thought I would post mine here.

I recently scored a pro grille off craiggers for $30. I love how it really tones down the amount of Chrome on the Limited. Should have came from the factory this way. Next up is painting or wrapping the roof rails.

Yea I happy with them. Obviously they are not a 100% fit with some silver showing if you look at it from a 90 degree angle. They do the job for the price! Here are some up close shots:

I was thinking about do the same with my Limited. Did you have to remove the chrome piece to put on the pro grille?

No, you don't have to remove the Chrome piece. You just replace the upper black piece, then use double sided tape to put the new TOYOTA grill over the chrome one. It didn't fit quite right though and the bottom tape wouldn't touch, so I made a little L bracket to hold the bottom in place. It's really solid and you can't see the L bracket unless you really look for it. I think some others chose to trim the sides to get it to fit better, but I just went a different route.

Lots of nice 4runners. Here's Mine, I just came back from camping about 3 hours away.

Where did you put the spring perch on the front? .85 or 1.75"? You put on the Eibach 1" lift rear springs? Looks good!

I have the Eibach pro shocks front and rear as well as the pro lift 1" springs for the rear sitting in the garage. Waiting for it to cool down before I do the install. Pretty set on going 1.75" in the front, but still considering the higher 2.5"...
