Limited lift is in now what!!!!!

Well I have finally have gotten around to installing my Daystar 2 1/2- 1 1/2 inch
lift on my 14 limited, and am happy with the look. Now I need to decide on
tire size to go with. I am thinking 275/55/20 or 275/60/20. I don't want to go
too big, but don't want to look like I missed leg day..... MPG is super important
as I had an 05 with terrible gas mileage.

Why did you get the 4Runner if MPG is "Super Important", the difference between the 4th and 5th gens in mpg is not as big as you would think; not to mention it will be greatly affected by mods and type of driving you do. I'm not trying to beat you down here but, buying a BOF SUV for gas mileage is a very disappointing (in the sense that your expectations are very likely not to be met) effort.

As for tire size, what type of tires are you looking to run? More aggressive ATs/possibly RTs or MTs (decrease in MPGs ranging from slight to significant) or more road friendly HTs (slight drop in mileage depending on how big you go.)

Go big or go home, with a lift go with the biggest tire option. Course that is counter to stated goal of good gas mileage.

Guess I forgot to mention, I had a 4.7 and went from average 18 mpg down to 13 mpg. I am currently at around 18 now, and want to stay as close as possible to that.

I purchased the 4Runner knowing from experience of mpg, and knowing it wouldn't be great, but dropping 5-6 mpg is something I am trying to avoid with the newer one. Guess I should have said kind of important... Rather than super.

Man if mpg is "super" important a lift and bigger tires is a sure fire way to kill mpgs. Make up your mind because you can't have it both ways.

I thought you couldn't lift a limited without replacing the XREAS?
You can with a spacer lift.

The problem is that if you go to new tires you're gonna dip below your desired 18mpg limit. I wouldn't be surprised if just lifting it has affected that already.

That's also why I was asking what type of tires you want, because anything other than OEM spec is going to be heavier and thus affect mileage significantly. Even going to a slightly more aggressive AT (over stock) will drop the mileage.

Street tires and removal of the lift will likely give you the best possible MPG. It all depends on how you plan to use the vehicle, though.
