Location of headlight vent?

Put my truck through a touch-free car wash the other day and now the driver's side headlight looks like a terarrium. Thinking the vent is blocked but I'm not sure where it's located.

Little help, pls?

One of mine just did the same thing unfortunately and I'm toying with the same decision.

What I'm going to do is just pull the bulbs out and stick a hairdryer in there and get it all dry. Put the bulbs in there and hopefully the seal will still be intact enough to keep out moisture. This may be temporary.

Anyone know a permanent fix to this?

is it oem or aftermarket housing? bake it in the oven and take it apart, then wipe the lens clean and if u want, black out the housing. then bake it again to put it back together.

OEM lights. Happened only after the car wash a couple days ago.

Really just trying to get the moisture out but if I have to split them, I was thinking I may as well hit it with some satin black while I'm in there.

Drain, rinse with distilled water, drain, dry. A little isopropyl alcohol 90% or greater will help speed the drying.

Do the fronts come off these lights?

Might as well just go ahead and split them. This gives you an excuse to do a fun weekend project and have awesome blacked headlights.:banana:

Should be on the bottom I cant remember where but who cares split em...paint em n put em back together...it will change the look u will love it...

I'm sold. Haha. I'm going to take a hair dryer to mine to try to get the moisture out until I can set aside enough time to split them. I have kind of always wanted to.

Definitely worth doing, it only takes part of one day, it costs is just the cost of spray paint you use, and its fairly easy/as long as you have a big enough oven for a headlight anyone can do it. A tip though, take the apart ONE at a time and THEN paint the two middle pieces. Also be careful pulling them apart, that epoxy is sticky as hell and gets every where if you don't watch where you set things.

If u guys are drying with hair dryer, might as well bake them apart, its only about 20 mins to do, preheat to 250-265, bake for 10 mins and then just take it apart, do not use alcohol to clean inside, its goin to ruin the lens.

Well, a good fight was fought but I'm convinced that there is an issue with the seal.

Since the last time I posted in this thread, the light assy was removed, dried and reinstalled. The 2nd time thru the Lazer Wash and the driver's headlight turns into a fish bowl again.

I know what this weekend's project is.


I do have a question about the taillights, though. Anyone ever try splitting those in order to get rid of that magenta color?
