Location of T and E1 terminals 1988 4runner

Hi there..I'm trying to locate my T and E1 terminals to retrieve error codes on my 1988 4runner. Some manuals state it is located in the terminal block adjacent to the RHS fuse box near the battery. Some say it is the green two wired plug near the air filter.

Regardless of these choice, I have neither options on my Runner. Any suggestions on where it may be located? See pictures attached.

My check engine light is randomly flashing (not steady and with no pattern which could suggest a short but I'd like to find out)...

It should be a small connector adjacent to the fuse/relay box in the 2nd pic.

Well..I've tried all the couplings and none of them affect the check engine light when the key is in the "on' position. The Check Engine Light remains constant...on. No flashes.

Now, when I'm driving the check engine light flashes irregularly and in rapid succession.

So, I'm concluding I've got a short somewhere in engine light system that is causing the light to flash when driving and remain only on when testing...
