Loose AutoTrans Shifter Lever

My neighbor with the 97 Limited 2WD now wants me to "help her" (read as do) with a bunch of maintenance on her 4runner. Lol

Her auto trans gear selector (shifter lever) is loose and the dealer told her it is a bushing, I have looked in my FSM and online at Camelback but cannot find a bushing for the shifter lever, nor have I crawled under it to take a look

I imagine the replacement is not easy based on her eye-roll at dealer repair quote (not shared with me) but nothing is cheap at the stealership

Any help would be appreciated, thanks gents!

This is a very common replacement.

Call Camelback. Like on the phone....... They will tell you the part number. It is probably on this site somewhere but I have to go to work.

I believe [MENTION=120071]mtbtim[/MENTION] said he was going to make a video soon on how to replace the bushings. Mine have some slop and need replacing but I'm going to wait until Tim/Sean make a video on it.

My shifter, if not "seated" correctly in drive, will slip into 2nd. Not cool....

This repair would be shown on a 4wd.... cuz that’s all we futz wit... but I’m sure it’s very similar to those with 2Runner’s.

The 2WD shouldn't be as difficult compared to the 4WD shifter - there is only 1 pivot and it is more accessible.

The part number is 90385-11003 and you need 2 of them for the 2WD shifter (4 for the 4WD shifter).

Thanks for the clarification. Just ordered 2 because my sons is a 2WD. Cost 3 times the parts cost for shipping. [emoji849][emoji849] $2.40 for the parts and $ 7 something for shipping. Still a pretty inexpensive repair.
