Lost my key fob....

How do I get around the inevitable alarm when I use the key to open the doors and start the car? Disco the batt? What is the perm solution to no key fob? 2000 SR5 V6 AUTO 4X4

So, when you unlock the door on the driver side it does not turn the alarm off?
Or the key in the ignition does not kill it?

I always thought one or the other would kill the alarm. However I don't have a care alarm just the factory fob that unlocks the doors for me.

At least with the factory alarm.

The above deactivates the factory alarm on my wife's 2k SR5 4x4.

Maybe OP has an aftermarket alarm?
