Great to hear. My Stealth SCS wheels get here tomorrow and go on Saturday with Duratrac 285s. Can Not Wait!
Got to admit I love when people come up to me and say nice truck man,out of nowhere
Best mod's I recommend for stock owner's is SpiderTrax Spacers and GY Duratracs 285/70r17. It will change everything.
Are you running 285's without a lift?

Purchased my new 2013 SR5 'Runner about a month ago... it replaced my old 2004 4Runner, which I LOVED. Now that I've had a chance to "get to know" my new truck, here's a quick "review"...
LIKES:
- build quality (fit & finish)
- aggressive styling
- head room
- dash controls
DISLIKES
- no locking fuel door????
- no running boards????
- TERRIBLE GAS MILEAGE
- interior materials... lots of hard plastic & funky cloth armrest (easily soiled, hard to clean)
- manual 4WD shift lever replaced by knob for 2013 (UGH)
LOVE MY TRUCK OVERALL! A steal at $31,000 (no additional options).

I'm very impressed with the fit and finish of my 4RTE--it's damn near perfect, but I also thought it was curious Toyota didn't include a locking fuel door.
BTW, speaking of terrible gas mileage, the other day I was driving back from Las Vegas at a speed of around 75-76 mph on level highway across open flat desert with about a 15-20 mph crosswind. I reset the mpg meter just to see what kind of mileage I was getting under those conditions. 12.9 mpg! OMG! WTF? LMAO! I mean, after that surprise all I could do was laugh.
From now on I'm driving only with the wind. :lol:
If you reset it mid drive and not at a full tank refill your mpg wont calculate properly... so you're not really getting 12 mpg and if you're going to LA from Vegas there is no way its that bad. I got better then that in my FJ with all the weight I had added to it. LA to Vegas = bad mpg cause its mostly up hill.
Vegas to LA = almost ok mpg cause it mostly down hill.

I think what he was getting at was his current MPG at that specific moment in time, but who knows, reading for me is hard.
Apparently you dont know how to use comas either... I understand that he meant in that moment in time, but if you follow this forum at all you may have read one of the million threads about MPG. There have been several posts in which members have said that the system used to calculate mpg in the 4Runner gets confused and indicates the wrong mpg if its reset mid trip and not at a full tank refill at the gas station. If my understanding of this system is wrong I hope one of the many knowledgeable members on the forum can correct me.

Check the classifieds for running boards thanks to aha2998 and superman (Don't remember the rest of his name, lol) but all I had to pay for was shipping and it was about $30. I got them to protect the sides from rocks and they do it very well.
Also I agree with the hard plastic (Which I like because it is easy to clean, but when you touch it's really cheap feeling. Plus all of those little dimple things molded on the dash make it look like a tonka truck.
What is your MPG? It most likely just needs to be broken in some more. If it is under 12-13 with mild driving style I would take it into Toyota.

Agree about the fuel door. My '88 toy p/u had that feature and the entire truck only cost 10k. New!
I got rid of my oem running boards and got sliders, I really dislike the cheapo oem running boards anyway.
My gas mileage is only about 1 or 2 mpg at most worse than my '04 Tacoma 4x4, so I'm ok with it. I find I need to reset my mpg readout when I hit the long road to get it accurate. If I do it after a fillup it still needs a reset on the road, but then is fine.
I really hate that 4x4 knob. One reason I went with the '12 model year to get the stick. The knob really looks cheap and out of place to me.

Actually, I reread the section regarding resetting the fuel information meter in my owner's manual yesterday. It didn't say anything about the system getting confused and indicating wrong mpg if its reset midtrip. In did say that topping of the tank might cause "estimated mileage" to not reset. Resetting it during midtrip just recalculates the average MPG beginning at the time you reset it. Since I was driving on a long flat section of highway, I thought it was a good time to check my mpg. I think the 12.9 reading over a distance of about 13 miles was accurate. Generally speaking though, I average about 18.5-18.9 mpg. I have had as high as 21.9 believe it or not, but that was short-lived and I haven't seen it but once.

My MPG indicator is quite accurate. Instantaneous readings will look odd due to the various driving conditions as [MENTION=95578]2013Trail[/MENTION] pointed out: Wind, incline, speed, load, traffic conditions, tire pressure 
, etc.
IMO odd but correct.
The indicator, along with your odo are useful tools when adjusting your driving style to improve MPG, if you are so inclined.

its a blessing and a curse depending on how you look at it. pita in the winter time when you get snow/ice buildup in that mechanism and you cant get the door open.

Same observations here. The on-board MPG calculation is staggeringly accurate from my math (assuming you run stock sized tires
).

wonder why the trip meter shows different mileage - tank capacities @ fill up?.
my 05 sr5 v6 displays 327 miles @ fill up...some other forum memeber says his displays 368 miles @ fill up

Because it would depend on what kind of fuel economy you are getting prior to filling up. The DTE figure is based off the comouter's calculation of your fuel economy. So, if you're filling up after lots of highway diving (road trips), then surely you will see a larger DTE figure than after filling up after city driving/day-to-day driving.
It would also depend on how often you reset your fuel economy read-out. I reset mine after every fill-up.
