The bolt pattern for the Warn winch is 10 x 4.5 inches. Our bumpers are 3 1/4 inches wide so we'll need to get some hardened 3/8 or 5/16 allthread rod and sandwich it on there with a steel plate on the bottom.We may need to brace the front bumper back to the frame with some struts for added strength, but that's no biggy. The actual bumper is already 7075 aluminum and is pretty stout.It took some effort to drill thru it.

I have not heard anything from Lucrum since I first made contact with them I will follow up with them soon.

Sorry it took me a bit to get back to you. We just switched over our
computers and I had to find your info. Sorry about that. I am deffinatly
interested in taking the next step towards making a winch mount for the
4runners. At this point the last info I would need is who has what year 4
runner that’s wants to order. Once I find that out I will know how many we
are looking at with any model changes and what we need to focus on and do
next. If you could let me know I will start working on it.

I told him that all who responded had the 2010 model year however there may also be significant interest for 4th Gen owners. I will post over in the 4th gen forum to see what interest they have as well.

Anyone live near Fallbrook, CA 92081 who might want to be a guinea pig for fitment?
 
I saw that write up a few months back. Although the install was extremely clean and unobtrusive, I questioned the structual integrity....thinking to myself how an angle pull would probably rip the fairlead right off. Bulldog mentioned that a few posts later. The truck owner did an exceptional job on a whole...very impressive.


I think this company is on the right track. The whole package looks well built and plenty trong to handle the rough stuff. It's not the stealth look some may be after, but I'll go for strengh over looks anytime.

I would be interested in a 4th gen model.

I do have a question though...

It looks like this will require us to cut the middle section of the bumper on the 4th gen. Is that correct?

Also, the pics show D rings on the plate in front. I'm guessing this is mounted to the frame and is able to handle the rig being pulled by the D rings?
 
im more interested in the strength over what it looks like also but no one knows for sure if this is what it would truly look like on the 5th gen, these are "might" look pics, right? does the 599 price include the winch for the 4r, not to mention how much bumper cutting if any to make it work with the 4th gen. personally, id say a full bumper would be better, but this may be a decent alternative for less serious winching.

I'm not really sure why you think a full winch bumper would be better both are going to mount to the same attachment points on the frame where the stock bumper attaches.

it would be a better option only if you are gonna do real wheeling, for protection. They will be both be equally as strong as far as mount points go, but the full bumper would obviously be superior if you planning on doing some real wheeling. I plan on getting a full bumper as soon as the first person makes a nice one.

If I am doing hard enough wheeling to need a winch I damn well better have armor. My double locked 4runner ran lower 2 at tellico without any assistance, i never needed a winch for it once over the lifetime of its wheeling career, but I went through 3 front bumpers and countless budbuilt skids underneath. IMO I would much rather have armor before a winch.

I completely agree that a full winch bumper will provide much more protection than the lucrum product however i believe that this product is just as capable of winch recovery as a full winch bumper.

You are correct a full bumper is much better for serious off roading.

Count me in. Also, I am interested to hear TE owners opinion of the new KDSS and all of the off road settings you can select at the twist of a knob. :roadkill:
