There is actually 99 people interested (interested at ANY price plus interested at $600). If he is really serious, which frankly, I think he isn't, as he would need to convert just 10% of those who already said they are interested, he should take deposits. If he gets 10 deposits, he builds it. If he only gets 5, he mails people their deposits back.
I would be willing to do a refundable deposit if he doesnt end up getting the 10 customers he needs.
Now we just need 8.....

So he doesn't think he'll sell 10 out of the hundred+ that said they are interested. And...... he wants us to come up with $6000 up front to start the research and development? Really?
It can't be all that different then the FJ's if he had a 5th to work with.
Lucrum has a new aluminum one out and had a group buy over on the FJ forum and could only get 4 people. Where are you getting your numbers? The poll paints a much different picture. And as said, they would only need 10% of voters to be serious buyers. Above is one. I'm two. Others will come.
Business is a risk. Nothing is guaranteed but one needs a product to sell and so far they have nothing.
However I know a perfect way to guarantee ZERO sales and that's by doing exactly what they are doing.

Were now looking for a 5th gen to take measurements off of to see if this could be a reality. Were now in our new shop and wanting to expand our product line.

I wanted to put up an official goodbye message so here it goes;
I wanted to say thank you to everyone on the forums for all of the support and business you all have provided to us for the past several years. This was a real successful company and a real great experience. My family and the employees we had over the years are all grateful and thankful for the income and fun it was. For those that don't know, Lucrum was really motivated and inspired by the forums. Forums like this led to me finding out about the FJ back in '06, ultimately making me purchase one. I still love it and use it. I had a blast getting to design and produce many great products, work with the great people I did, and I am especially proud to say that my last accomplishment was to sell our first winch mount to Australia (as they finally just released the FJ there a few weeks ago now) that sale completed a major goal for myself as I can say Lucrum has winch mounts in use on all 7 continents. I never had any idea we would sell so many and they would be such a success. We were know more for them and our lighting systems than anything else.
As I would like to have a chance to set rumors straight as to why Lucrum closed I will provide as much of the details as I can. Mid last year a friend of mine I had know for a while, and a fellow FJ owner, approached me for a third time over a couple years, wanting to buy into Lucrum and "help us expand and be able to pursue his love for off-roading." After many months seeking wise council, prayer, and trying to make the right decisions, I decided to accept his offer. A few short months after bringing him in, things went noticeably south as it became apparent that the qualifications he said he had along with his experience, even the assets he was to bring, was a lie. Then the truth became more obvious. While I was out one morning with my wife for a prenatal check up, he was caught trying to sell an idea of mine to a competitor behind my back. When confronted he went crazy and started to deliberately try to hurt the company, parking his FJ in the shop so people could not work, trying to get employees to perform personal tasks for him on company time, etc. Finally, while I was working with people to get him out, he raided the company account stealing thousands of dollars from Lucrum, drained it, and never came back. This person is on the forum and goes by "TADRAD" aka Geoff Brown. Needless to say other processes are underway.
Well that's it. I wanted to say thanks and set the record straight, nothing like a dramatic exit I guess (not a good thing). While Lucrum is done. I will be going on in the industry and working on getting more cool stuff out and available. Additionally, it is very likely as there has been some great interest by other businesses to continue some of our products, so they will live on and continue to provide for other people both for fun and for jobs. Lucrum was a great business and would have gone on a long time. But life has taught me through my own hardships, lost child, accident being paralyzed, even though I do not want to, it is best to look to the future and not forget lessons from the past. Success is the best revenge and how and who you live your life for is the most important. No one can take that away. Besides I know God has a better plan than I do."
