bad ass rig... oddly I find myself reading this thread with an asian accent! LOL

hahaha...I isn't good at English 'cause I don’t speak English usually. So I’m studying English.

According to that picture, several folks in Japan is running a 6" lift. Seems to be all the rage there.

6" lift with 35s results in a pretty tall 4runner/FJ. I've seen one FJ (in person) setup like that here. Not a single 5th gen 4runner (yet). Well, there was the mall crawler with 37s, but that does not really count.

We're almost 3" lift. Some people are 6"lift.
I have never seen the other 6 "lift 5th gen in Japan.
Seems to increased 6 "lift 5th gen in Hawaii.

I've installed the rock light. I became easier to night offroad. This is quite useful.
But I had a hard time on the wiring.

Hard to tell from your pictures - did you install an SR5 swaybar when you removed the KDSS, or are you running without any swaybars?

Nice rig, I'm looking forward to seeing more! Any rubbing issues with the 35s, or is there still room to go up to 37s with some cutting?

I haven't installed swaybar. It's a good move in the off-road. But it will roll at the city driving. So I'm going to install the front swaybar for SR5.


I was chop the front mount, and crushed by hitting the rear tire room. So it doesn't hit with the 35s. In addition I extended the bump at 4th gen bump.
If you want to install 37s, it would still need 2" or 3" lift.

Its cool to see wheelin' and love of 4Runners is cross-cultural.

I'm an asian-american, born and raised in Tennessee, now I live in Colorado...big rigs and mud-holes are what I was around. I always got strange looks in my jeep at the trail-head or when I go into local off-road shops in CO now with my T4R...but in all honesty, its always been one of the most welcoming groups of people I've been around.

We share a similar interest, and after you pull one rig out of a mud-hole, you're all of a sudden best friends with the owner!

Few people have 4runner in japan. So there is few 4runner information in Japan. However, there is here many owners and many informations. This site is very fun. Thanks!

If i recall correctly the KDSS light is alway's on but not the CEL.

KDSS lamp is always lit, but Engine check lamp is not lit.There is no problem with the move

This is an impressive truck. The CV angles look very good. This is a good case for a drop bracket lift, done to accommodate large tires.

I really like the cameras! and the rock lights are pretty cool.
