Ask around, call some of the toyota dealers in your area and ask them who they have do their bodywork. Since your car is not brand new, there is likely to be some sun fade. They should match the paint on the hood to the paint on the car (with sun fade) so that the hood does not look like an addition, but original equipment.

Toyota charging $500 is their price to send the thing out to the body shop and pick it up. Probably save about $250 by taking it to the body shop yourself.

It sounds like Luxury just bought a new Sport hood, not just the scoop. At least that is my understanding.

In the other thread, he shows pics of the scoop. If he also has the hood, then he'll be fine.

If not, I don't think he can add the scoop to his original hood.

There's a place here in Santa Monica called M4, who is an authorized repair shop for Toyota, VW, Honda, GEICO, etc....I had the wife's Beetle repaired there and they did a very nice job on the paint. No runs, or flaws. The paint matches perfectly, which is hard to do on a black car....The repair was 2 months ago, so I can't give long-term review...I think their pricing is reasonable as well....The # is 310-292-7662...The guy that helped us is Danny. Perhaps you can call and he will give you a guesstimate over the phone without looking. If nothing else, you can compare to the estimate you get from Longo...

Maaco can do a good job but the price always goes up compared to their $199 special. Why not mount the hood and take it up to a body shop so they can paint it? Or don't you want to leave it for a while. Will be easier if they have your truck so they can blend it all in.

Thanks guys for all the feedback. I am actually holding off on painting it now because I have a shortage of $$$. I may end up selling the sport hood and all the hood scoop components. If I get a new job soon then maybe I'll keep it and I'll let you all know where I end up getting it painted. Thanks again.
