haha I can't tell if you are being serious or just trying to crack a joke. Yes it can if that's your prerogative. Especially if your running the tires from the factory. I personally wont do that, tires aren't that cheap nor is that why I supercharged it.

Hey guys lets keep it cool in this thread. I answered some of yalls question in terms of my MPG. I personally dont watch my mpg as if I am driving an economic vehicle. I didnt purchase it for that nor did I supercharge it with hopes of better MPG. If your penny pushing for more mpg this isnt the modification for you. I look forward to the others posting their experiences. I would have videos up, but havent figured it out yet. There are some videos on IG. Going in this week before the expo to get the new tune uploaded.
Wtf is this “probably” make it 190 miles lawl? So even at 12 mpg with 24 gallons you’re still getting about 280 miles per tank and that’s with some low speed crawling stuff mixed in to get 12.
I just wrapped up an 8000 mile/7 week trek in my 4runner last week (though likely heading back out this weekend). Even in my most desolate areas of the continental divide there’s 150-200 miles between stations. There’s very few spots in the US where you can’t go 280 miles without gas and, gasp, if you do - carrying aux fuel isn’t a big deal. If you can afford an $80k vehicle then you can get some aux tanks. I paid cash for my 2017 4runner but didn’t have the need for a bigger LC, although I could afford it. The fuel range would be a silly excuse though lol.
With my heavy tires, lift, the 4runner loaded to the gills and towing our loaded off road trailer, we still got 15mpg-16mpg most the trip, obviously on Imogene Pass and stuff was different. With the added power of the Land Cruiser, id bet it’s towing fuel mileage would be much closer to the 4runners than it’s empty mpg.

FYI, if you do, make sure you don't forget to record any footage of you smoking the tires during that "hold my beer moment!" lol I've been waiting so long for this SC to com out, I was 1 month too late, I just found out about it this week! Emailed mag, they replied back "sorry " all good tho, glad to see someone posting thier experience with the install and drivability. That way us other guys will know what to expect! Thanks again for this thread! Funny how the other ppl feel about it lol.

Quick update. The install is going smooth and everything is very simple so far. I should have my ECU back Friday, or Monday....
I did however run into something that slowed me down. Probably just me being anal.... But I scoped my lower intake runners and they are nasty and full of grime. So, I stopped and think I'm going to pull that and clean it out thoroughly. Here is a pic of the top of the motor with the plastic intake removed... The actual intake is what I'm going to pull next that is not necessary for the install.
I think I could just bolt on the blower and be fine.. but it will bug me to know all that grime is in there...
I would be really curious to see what another one of these looked like down in there. I was a bit shocked when I saw it.. but makes sense with all the dusty conditions I've been in..... will report back after I attempt to pull it.
The actual ports into the heads looked fantastic as the injectors keep the oil mist off the sides, but the intake bakes a grime in it... I should probably just leave it alone.... but I'm that guy.

Recently did the knock sensors on an FJ and its intake runners looked the same. Done a lot in a lot of cars and its just about the same all around. I think it's just deposits from oil vapor via PCV valve and valve cover breathers. Preventative maintenance of intake system cleaner you introduce SLOWLY through a vacuum line should cut down on it but I've never seen it cause any issue. Just change your oil and you'll be fine.

I have always run a OEM paper filter on my Runner and It looks about the same...

Yea, very familiar with the PCV and the oil in the intake.. and agreed.
I expected some oil in there.. what bothers me a bit is the grit.. If I run my finger down in the runner it comes out with an oily grit... Seen it before also, but it it has been a while since I have pulled an intake that was not a composite material all the way to the cyl head. The aluminum sort of makes it coke up....
I'm not really worried about the motor....l. Just want to get that grit out while I have the opportunity...
Did not have any time to work on it today though.

Yes, it helps.. but oil still gets in.. and I put it on at about 50k... 70k now.
According to Magnuson on instagram, they are claiming Toyota is installing these and they will not void any warranties. Honestly, I think they’re full of BS if they think corporate Toyota won’t void a transmission or the likes powertrain wise it fit blows with this installed. Rightfully so. They designed these powertrains to have 250 rwhp, not 330+. Nothing against the supercharger but it’d be unreasonable to hold Toyota liable for powertrain issues once this is installed.
Oddly, I didn’t see anything on Magnuson website about the superchargers NOT voiding factory warranties on any of their superchargers, just that they offer there own warranty...

Where on Magnusson IG does it state that? They do offer their own warranty, but in some cases there are dealers who are able to provide warranty if they do the install. And can you provide the specs where it states its limitations? It honestly comes down to the driver. You beat it up constantly you heighten the chances of it breaking regardless of supercharger. It also comes down to the tune and how the timing was handled. I can tell you the power curve is smooth as can be.

Just read it. Like I previously stated, it comes down to if the dealer is able and willing to cover the install. Many dealerships do aftermarket work and its covered under warranty. Dodge/Jeep/RAM do it all the time.
See attached. They specifically said “Toyota dealerships are installing them and if you think it voids any warranty, you’re wrong.”
I believe either them or someone else also chimed in stating that Magnuson previously made the TRD superchargers and because of that, Toyota Will warranty these.
I looked through the Magnuson website and I can’t find anything stating that their superchargers “don’t void any factory warranty.” One wouldnthink that would be a huge selling point if it was the case.
Honestly - I don’t think that they have a formal/legal agreement with Toyota and the fact they are making these kind of claims openly is a bit shady.

Mopar is also advertised and backed by Chrysler. I highly doubt that Toyota will be advertising and backing Magnuson any time soon.
You’re saying it comes down to the dealer. That’s not what Magnuson is saying - they’re making it seem like Toyota as a whole. I can guarantee you that someone may make a handshake deal with a Toyota dealer, but I guarantee no dealer will put that in writing, the same way Magnuson won’t guarantee that it won’t void a TOYOTA warranty in writing... well.. except the IG post they made.
I don’t expect Toyota to, not do I care if I void it that much. However their posts are pretty misleading. I’m tempted to email them directly, or ask Toyota corporate directly. If it’s true that’s a huge selling point. If it’s not, it’s skrtchy for them tonstate that.

I think the IG post is probably a bit misleading, but also true depending on how you look at it. I'm sure they would not put this on their actual website, just someone probably being a tad overzealous since there are no disclaimers... or legal review for what goes on twitter or IG. But I'm not sure... just guessing.
Nothing technically voids your warranty on the entire vehicle. If I install a supercharger and my AC stops blowing air.... well, it is still covered under warranty. However, if I install a supercharger and blow a piston out of the block... well, duh.... It's on a case by case basis if the aftermarket component could be the cause of the problem. With a supercharger... well then many things in the powertrain come under question.
To add to the the confusion (and probably the basis for the IG comment), there is a full power-train warranty offered from mag with many of the kits when put on a new vehicle still under factory warranty. I'm not sure how that works exactly, but I'm guessing some dealers leverage that plus the factory warranty to basically keep you 100% covered. It comes for free with many of the kits from what I remember.
Since I'm out of warranty... I've never even given it a second thought.
Whatever the case...I would not take an IG comment as corporate policy.. Get clarification.
