Magnusson supercharger now out for ‘20/21 models

Forgive me if this has already been posted, but I didn’t see a thread among the first 50 or so….

I called Magnusson today and just found out the SC is finally out and of course back ordered for 2020 and 2021 models. It seems they increased the price to over $7k now. Between that and installation I’m guessing this will cost around $11k or so ?

Let’s think ahead here. Are the gains enough to warrant that price, or should we wait until a company comes out with pulleys and tunes to FURTHER increase power?

I’m so desperate for a power increase since I live at altitude, and don’t think I trust the reliability of a wrangler 392…… BUT, I’m also not crazy about spending this much on a 4Runner that will get a total refresh in 2023.

Yes I called. I wanted to get an update and then got the unexpected surprise that it was released this past week. And I noticed that too — it’s not on their website yet.

It'll probably be closer to 8.5. Install is generally around 10 hours . But, the big news here is that they cracked the ECU! They would be the first (assuming Toyota didn't give them access/OEM it)

Yeah I’m just not happy they raised the price by approx $1k.
But if it’s around $8500 and I keep this ride for another 2 years, I agree it’s worth it

4runningmutts didn't seem to have very good luck with that procharger. Rumor has it he blew his motor. I haven't seen too much success so far with those.

Stoked, had one on my 2015 and loved it (installed at 86k miles too, zero issues). Worth EVERY penny for those of you on the fence.
This will be a very early mod to the 21 TRDP I just had shipped.

Coming from an Ecoboost F-150, the supercharger option is growing on me since I plan on keeping my 4Runner for a while. Would also like to hear about the reliability - my buddy has a supercharged Tacoma up around 250k miles with no issues, so I'm pretty confident to start out. What's this new info on the tune option?
