MAINT light

You should have more than 2 posts under your belt before you make insulting comments like that toward a senior member.

He's probably been driving since you were in diapers.

Since he/she is a senior member, then he/she should be able to take advice for the questions they ask. Not jump at their first interpenetration of a suggestion, then insult the person offering help. My 97 year old grandma has been driving cars her whole life...well before I was in diapers... that doesn't mean she knows the difficult task of how to clear the maintenance light.

You guys are way over thinking the light. It is only a mileage driven feature that turns on solid every 10k miles. You must have not cleared it all the way when you changed the oil.

in what way did I insult you?

I must have misunderstood when you said that.
although, im not sure how else to take, "not all the way" that implies only part way.

your snide remarks were unnecessary, and unwarranted. if you read, I mentioned I reset the light, then it came back on, what I felt was too early. clearly that means the light WAS in fact reset, and that it had been OFF for some time.

maybe you didn't mean what you wrote when you said "not all the way" but, we can only go on what you said, not what you meant...
