Major Fitment Issue with TJM T-15 ::NEED HELP::

Well, I'm glad I went out tonight and got started on it, hopefully I can have some answers by the weekend.:ybrick:
As most of you know I got a T-15 from YotaJim's, but I think this may be one for a 2nd Gen.
I also got 3rd gen 2" Body Lift brackets.

Here is my truck with the 2" BL brackets installed:

The bumper itself fits perfectly with the body of the truck, but the brackets on the truck are too wide for the brackets on the bumper. Here's the comparison:



The brackets on the truck measure 31.75" apart:


Meanwhile the brackets on the bumper are only 26" apart (that's about 2.75" each side!!):




So what do you guys think? Did I get the wrong bumper or what? Can I put spacers and longer bolts in to make it work? I'm sure I can't winch like that, though...
I'm not happy right now. Hopefully someone can say "flip it over, dummy" or something simple like that...

Sorry to hear this, i think the strongest structurally sound option is to weld up a new bracket.

Can you turn the brackets around?

Does the bumper have any TJM part numbers on it somewhere? I think the SRS warning label might. See if you can cross reference a number to check if you have the right bumper.
1/2 an inch would have been an acceptable difference, but 2 1/2, no, something is certainly wrong.

I ran into a similar situation when I got my ARB bumper from RRO. Check the part numbers, if you can find any, and call the TJM customer service line. They can at least point you in the right direction...

I echo the sentiment that something is certainly wrong.

Yeah I bought the brackets seperately. The brackets that came with the bumper don't look like they line up with the truck either.

MAybe try to re-sell and buys different one. Or call the place you bought it off of and see what they have to say.

as much as it might such, a weld shop could sort something out for a like $150 or so, like you said the lines of the bumper mount up just not the mounting brackets, so either get it fitted close and weld it into place with some spacers or sell it and get the right one....

Like theizzardking said, I think you best bet is too take it to a welding shop and let them help you. I think that would be easier and cheaper than trying to sell that one and find another. A good welding shop can fabricate new brackets to fit no problem.

Well I live nowhere near yotajims, I paid over the phone and duhockey picked it up and shipped it out for me cause he shipped it through his wife's job for half the price that yotajim wanted. So being that I'm 2000 miles away and not too keen on losing tons of money, I'm pretty much stuck with the bumper.

My girls dad owns a legit machine shop so I'm gonna ask him for some help...if not, 2nd gen'ers- look for it for sale

so can I hybrid that second gen bracket to my third gen body lift brackets and have the correct height, width and even be able to keep that cross bar? What do you guys think? I think this would be the best as to not sacrifice structural integrity.
