Major uprgades installation. Fit problems. Looking for help and sugestions. Newbie!

Hey whats up guys. I'm pretty new at this forum thing and my 4runner. Here's what I'm trying to install.

CarPC in the dash.
Drop down touch screen where the homelink area is.
Reverse camera in the wing or spoiler under the light.
Surround sound amp, somewhere it fits. It's gonna be the a5100T.

I bought everything but the amp, but I only now took the dash apart and found out that fitting the carpc in the dash might be a problem. There is a plastice brace and the ac vents in the way. I thought I can cut the brace easy, but the ac vents might be kinda hard. Like how do I reconstruct them, and what material do I use.

I also need to figure out how to take the headliner off. so I can mount the lcd screen and run cables.

Please if anyone has any past experience in this field, I would appreciate the help.

I cannot help you, but I can tell you that the headliner in be a bitch to remove without damaging it. It is only a thick cardboard type material with fabric. It will absolutely take two people to remove as it will fold under its own weight, once the fasteners are popped.

do a search for carpc on this forurm it has been done, but you have run the pc from the back of the t4r to the screen in hte front. ill try and find it and post the link here but untill i find it again just search for it.

I also remember about six months ago that someone on this forum installed a PC and made it work with all the part in the dash area. I have tried a search but have not found it yet. If I remember correctly it was a link to an audio forum with all the info.

Yeah, that's the forum. The User ID of one dude who built a carpc is "RANDO", by the way. He's registered in here and in mp3car.com.

There's a write up of my system in the forums here and (in more detail) at mp3car.com. IIRC, there are a few other 4th gen systems here and there also. I don't recall seeing anyone fit a screen in the homelink area. It's definitely possible to fit the PC and screen in the dash though it takes some work. One of the other guys did it that way.
