Nice Rig - LOVE THE COLOR - looks alot like mine - good taste! well all except the MI plate
Is that MI as in Military Intelligence??
Anyways - I am waiting for my OME lift to get here and when it does I will have that and a 1.25 body lift put on and looking at the same tires, but maybe 285s. Your truck is selling me on those tires, especially since I already have the spidertrax.

Man id like to know how they are treating u on ur commutes? I commute 60 miles a day m-f for school and thought that was alot until i saw ur numbers...... so how are these babies at 70ish mph? think they'll last?

Thanks, I appreciate it, and good luck with your own setup. The tires are certainly not made for long commutes and I have to assume they will no doubt be louder than almost any AT tire. That is why I sprayed the wheel wells with the rubberized coating! However they are not annoying loud in the least bit in my opinion, even before I sprayed the coatings.T?@\7 said:
I still can and do carry on business conversations every day at 70-75mph using both the built in bluetooth and just holding the phone to my ear. The tires handle fine at that speed, and haven't given me any white knuckle moments yet. Keep in mind that my most recent truck/suv tire experiences are with the oem Michelin cross-terrains, BFG ATs on my old Tundra, and over 150k with BFG MTs and cheap generic 35" mud-terrains on my old CJ7. The T4R handles like a cadillac compared to that thing!

I used the 3M brand rubberized coating, but only because my local parts place had them on sale. The generic brands are probably just as effective. With 4 cans purchased I used one can per wheel and could probably have gotten away with two per wheel!T?@\7 said:

The oem rubberized coating in the wheel wells on my truck was very sparse and just had a small strip at the top of the well. Overall it was certainly a noticable improvement. The sound of the more aggressive tires is almost back to stock levels..(confirmed by my highly calibrated wife-to-be). An unexpected benefit was that when driving in the rain, it was much more quiet! Before, even with stock tires, I could hear the rain spraying off the rear wheels in the wheel well. This is now almost totally gone.
I would love to take it to the next level and hit the full underbody, it seems that would certainly work great. However, I would probably have to enlist a professional to take care of this for me if it wasn't too expensive.

I know you mentioned that you had 1.5" spacers installed in your truck. But did you just add the spacer in the front to level it off or did you use that same spacers in the rear as well? Basically what I am asking , is how did you got your 4runner to look that level/ride height? Also maybe I missed it, but what size tires are those?

I have the 1.25" Spidertrax WHEEL spacers at all four corners, not the spacers that preload the spring to raise up the truck, which were needed to push the tires away from the upper control arms (UCAs) in the front. I have Old Man Emu (OME) lift which is basically just replacing the front coilovers and rear shocks/springs with longer travel suspension. It provides around 3" of lift. The tires are 275/65R18 (stock is 265/60R18), which is the same size as 275/70R17 or 275/75R16 if you are comparing for a different size rim.GREENMONSTER said:

So far I am still very pleased with them. Cranked out over 200 miles today, mostly highway of course, and they are now pretty much invisible. There was certainly more road noise at first, but now I do not notice anything at all. It is probably a combination of the rubberized coating in the wheel wells and several thousands miles of getting used to them. Still listen to my radio at the same volumes, 7-12, and can carry on a conversation using the built-in bluetooth at 75mph without any problem.T?@\7 said:
Wet weather traction has also been a non-issue. There are two fairly slick on/off ramps that I use daily near my place. In the rain I will often push it faster and faster until it breaks loose and the tires are very predictable and do nothing scary. No issues yet with hydroplaning, even in heavy rain, so that one is still up on the air until I can hit a few large puddles to check it out.
Did a little off-roading last weekend taking laps around an old motocross track that had grown over. No more rubbing was felt even with many hard hits and running all four tires through their full range of travel.
